Slug Club is a radio show, music night, and label in southeast London, with regular shows on Netil Radio. (See also the Netil Radio home and website at Fonts In Use.) To celebrate a year of collaboration with illustrator Sacha Beeley, they produced a t-shirt with proceeds of sales going to Crisis, a UK charity for the homeless.

The design uses Copal – an underappreciated typeface in my opinion. Each line on the shirt utilizes Copal’s wide uppercase variants for EndcapS, bookending the narrow letters in-between.

Copal was designed by David Lemon who is coincidentally known for having cool shirts and whose birthday happens to be today. Happy birthday David!

This is probably one of the best “best collection” covers I have ever seen. The artist’s statement is: “I offer you my very best: my pearls.” The embroidery work suggests the hard work behind the tracks that represent the very best works of the artist since her debut in 1998. The concept of the pearl, something precious that evolves from something small and insignificant, is present not only in the title but also in the shape of the gems.
The colours are delicate, just like the pearls: golden threads on a subtle cream background.
The choice of the fonts – Harrington and Palace Script – matches the embroidery, and even if the name of the artist is all caps and in a strong and bold (and slightly stretched) Verdana, it matches perfectly with the rest of the composition.

Second album from Dutch ska band, Doe Maar, released in 1981 by Killroy Records.

Jefferson Airplane Takes Off is the debut album from psychedelic rock band Jefferson Airplane, released in 1966. The cover features a rare (and slightly squooshed) use of William Millstein’s Orientale, with what appears to be hand-rendered outline and shade effects. The floating ‘O’ in the band’s name, with wavy lines below, looks like it was made by raising the baseline of the lowercase ‘o’. There’s also a notably large use of Relievo No. 2.

Guide de l'étudiant 2019–2020 of l’Ésac Cambrai. This guide for students of the art academy of Cambrai, France was distributed to the students at the beginning of the current school year. 112 pages, 17×24 cm, offset printed in four spot colors (black, yellow, Pantone blue 072 and 806) by Jelgavas Tipogrāfija. Designed by Antonin Faurel and Benoît Bodhuin, the book consists of two superimposed parts. A decorative part – sarcastic, composed of flat colors and flower photos (without black) – holding the other one, informative (only in black on white).
