Ceramicah creates refined, hand-crafted ceramics for individuals with a contemplative eye. Their meticulous attention to detail and holistic design approach result in pieces that enrich both space and life. The visual identity combines Cormorant and Neue Helvetica. The logo is customized, based off of Gallique.

A boutique residence in the heart of Prague, The Julius is the global traveller’s home away from home. Combining modern design, with luxury, warmth and comfort, The Julius offers both short and long-term stays, tailored to their guests’ needs.

Drawing upon a 160-year family legacy, we created a timeless brand identity, that is infused with the Meinl principles of quality, style and distinguished service.

Inspired by images from the Julius Meinl archive, we took pre-20th century typographic references found in Austria and Central Europe, and used them as the basis of our design development, creating a visual language that is historic and premium, but also fresh and contemporary. This concept was also embedded in the autumnal colour palette, inspired by the works of celebrated Czech artist Alphonse Mucha, which tied in seamlessly to the interior finishes.

The identity of the in-house restaurant, Emporium Bistro, is also rooted in Meinl family tradition; repurposing mid-Century illustrations from advertisements and packaging in the archive, to form a stylish and playful sub-brand.

The project uses various weights and widths from the Söhne family by Kris Sowersby (Klim Type Foundry): a modern interpretation of Akzidenz-Grotesk, which was prominently used in the references found in the family archive. Klim Type Foundry describe their Söhne as “...the memory of Akzidenz-Grotesk framed through the reality of Helvetica.” This gives the identity its modern yet historical sensibility.

Dan Burrows is a graphic designer based in Canterbury, England, with an interest in working with luxury brands. He specializes in user interface design and is avowedly “passionate about typography, identity, technology and Art Direction”.

For his own portfolio website, Burrows skillfully paired premium images with text shown in contrasting sizes, enhanced with subtle gradient and shadow effects, and presented with generous amounts of white space. He composed a palette consisting of three different typefaces. The majestic caps of Perpetua Titling Light (Monotype, 1937) serve for titles and also for the text on the About and Contact pages.

In the intro text at the top of the page, Perpetua is interrupted by the cheeky italics from Cardinal Fruit (Production Type, 2018). The roman is specified for subtitles, project descriptions and meta data, and also appears for the rotated ticker text on the homepage. With its condensed proportions, Cardinal Fruit recalls computer advertisements from the 1980s, an association that is supported by the beige background color. While Perpetua’s role is to catch the eye and make an impression, the stylistically related but more approachable Cardinal takes over to lead the conversation.

The triple is completed by GT America (Grilli Type, 2016). Burrows uses the workhorse sans in slightly tracked caps, for labels and button text. Technically there’s a fourth typeface at play: since Perpetua Titling lacks characters like the at sign (@) and the copyright symbol (©), these are provided by a generic serif from the available system fonts (Times for the shown images).

.PEAM stands for interior design, consulting, and distinct living experience. The product collection includes steel and wooden furniture as well as home accessories made by craftsmen and artists of the Bavaria and South Tyrol regions.

Through her showroom, Andrea Harbeck sells her own products, along with such from other select manufacturers, such as Bauhaus ceramics by Hedwig Bollhagen or design classics by Niels Otto Møller. The created interiors are modern, well-balanced, and bright, aligning with Scandinavian or Japanese styles of living.

The selection of two typefaces from Commercial Type empathizes the simplicity and calmness of .PEAM design. The readable and timeless Neue Haas Grotesk Display is coupled with the editorial and contrasting Schnyder L Demi, originally created for the New York Times Style Magazine. The serif used for headlines adds a poetic and soft vibe, where more dry text set in the Swiss-style grotesk fits perfectly with technical drawings of the furniture.

Starting from the homepage, the new website design plays with the idea of zooming into the collection of projects and products. The viewer – both in the showroom and online – enters into a world of objects that contains stories and interiors which stand in contrast to our hectic world, evoking calmness.

Once you enter the project page, you can zoom into photos and see its details and marked products. Stripes of images are divided by typographic compositions, which underline the interior or product's atmosphere.

Contemporary European dining in the heart of the bustling, cobbled streets of Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter.

Belfast's Hill Street, a vibrant area full of bars, restaurants, and creative studios, was once a cultural hub for makers and craftsmen. The Grade B building was suitably named ‘Waterman House’ to reflect the River Farset that once flowed perpendicular to Hill Street; a transport waterway that allowed produce and equipment to reach the narrow, winding streets.

This layered history of the area, combined with a no-frill attitude and a classic European fare ignited a subtle, contemporary branding direction for Crown Creative. A nod to both the building’s name and the movement of water was implemented through organic, custom detailing in the form of the Waterman’s signature W in the wordmark (based on FS Siena) and a colour splash of blue. A combination of FS Siena and Monotype Baskerville is used in the menus and drinks list to reflect the minimalistic, fine dining interiors created by chef and owner Niall McKenna and his team.

Through an amalgamation of these concepts, Crown has achieved an understated yet confident branding package that suitably reflects the long-standing, upmarket milieu Niall has constructed over the course of his long career.

Auteur is a German luxury skincare brand, launched in 2020. They aim to promote self-expression and ageless beauty, far from the standards of the make-up industry.

For their branding, Holiday chose the strength of GT America from Grilli Type, the authenticity of PF Regal Text from Parachute Fonts, and the delicacy of Selva Script from Colophon Foundry. The typefaces are used across their packaging, website, social media campaigns.

I was approached by some amazing people to rebrand Coffee Būro, two coffee shops located in London, a city where the coffee scene is very well developed with an excessive number of independent shops and competitors in every corner. Coffee Būro is a unique dual concept of specialty coffee with a dedicated area for co-working and meeting rooms.

The British International Research Institutes (BIRI) are centres of research excellence, and hubs in a network that spans the Black Sea and southern Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Each institute has its own distinctive history and research profile, based on regionally focused expertise and experience.

The logo has been designed to capture values of connectedness, heritage and excellence; with the unique forms of the I’s inspired by the Doric order that has influenced so much of the region’s architecture. The modern serif forms were designed to balance a feeling historic permanence and enduring relevance.

Across applications, Tobias lends a bold and confident voice to headlines. The modern serif typeface originates from Baroque roots and lends a transitional appearance. Neue Haas Grotesk is then used for majority of typesetting; the typeface was chosen for its modernity and legibility as well as its wide character set for use in multiple languages.

The typographic identity is supported by a new marque—a symbol of collaboration and connectedness. The marque is formed from eight points, representative of the eight founding institutes, coming together to form a star in the negative space; a leading light in arts, humanities and social sciences research.

Citi Private Bank is part of the American Citigroup, “serving worldly, wealthy individuals and families”. Because of their specific target, the firm has to show an identity that expresses the needs and desires of the rich in order to be trusted. Even though the general Citi logotype doesn’t express any particular correlation to luxury, their website, on the other hand, exploits different patterns related to wealth.

First, the front page combines a black background with images of what seems to be golden artworks: this association already takes the visitor into a relationship to money far from utilitarian, evoking what comes with wealth rather than the transparency most of banks play on nowadays. Photographs of people in sophisticated places appear as we scroll, with different elements such as a plane, a branch symbolizing growth, and noble materials such as a piece of oak create the galaxy of the wealthy, which is highlighted through parallax scrolling effects. We find back all these elements on the other pages of the website where they are used to identify categories such as Management, Lifestyle, Investment, Legacy. etc. All these elements merge to create a consistent whole, where nothing is left to chance: on the contrary, all shown items carry a meaning, which shows how Citi deals with all the aspects of asset management.

In terms of type, the website is set in Sainte Colombe from Production Type and Interstate from Font Bureau. Sainte Colombe brings elegance to the website and a specific tone of voice to the bank. On the other hand, Interstate assesses the seriousness and the economic field in which the company works.

Daxton is a 151-room high-end hotel conceived by entrepreneur Mark Mitchell and partner Aparium Hotel Group in Birmingham, MI—a vibrant downtown outside Detroit. Its striking interior is a fearless take on modern luxe, with over 400 original pieces of avant-garde artworks curated by Saatchi Art, from artists both local and international.

With a lobby bar encased by a sprawling metal geode and mixed-media pieces like a mechanical gold horse, the experience is one of refined escapism. The fusion of dreams and reality that defines the interior also informed the branding, which blends an edgy wit with a modern sophistication. From its global collaborations to its cultural partnerships and world-class restaurant, Daxton is Michigan’s young gun upending the status quo and taking a well-deserved place next to the international giants of luxury hospitality.

For Daxton’s logotype, Mucca customized a stencil-version of Miller Banner, and utilized various cuts of the Miller and Miller Display type series throughout the collateral, stationery and wayfinding.

F37 Bergman by F37 Foundry in use for Sara Julián’s visual identity.

Sara Julián is a photographer specialized in fashion and editorial design. Born in Salamanca, she provides her services at a national and international level. Branding agency IF Concept has created an identity based the wordmark in all-caps F37 Bergman. Secondary typefaces include Monotype Baskerville Italic and Montserrat. The portfolio website additionally uses Open Sans and Times Italic.

Amalia Boier is an interior designer who crafts bespoke, timeless and alluring spaces. She Was Only worked with Amalia to create a new proposition, visual identity and online presence that tells the story behind her practice.

Our strategy emphasised Amalia’s poetic spirit – the compelling need to experience the world and then express it in unique and captivating ways. Her artistic approach allows her to tell stories through exquisite distinctive interiors.

The new visual identity comprises classic, sophisticated book typography, and a soft colour palette that complements her rich interiors. The logotype is set in Termina, the titles in Ivar Fine, the subtitles in Ivar Display and body copy in Ivar Text. We created an elegant, free-flowing, website that showcases her poetic spirit along with her interior design projects.

We also commissioned Pavillion Works to create a short film that explained her poetic approach to interior design.

F37 Bergman by F37 Foundry in use by designer Martin Parris of Collective Creative. Using F37 Bergman he created a luxurious property identity for No.5 Ilchester Place, showcased in an editorial piece to promote the luxury development in a visual portfolio.

The sans serif used for body copy is yet unidentified.

Maison d'Orsay is a bicentennial French perfume house located in Paris, specialized in unisex perfumes that can be worn by couples. The story behind this particular position is that of Alfred d'Orsay, the creator of the firm. In the 1820s, Alfred d'Orsay falls madly in love with Marguerite Blessington, ten years younger than him and already married to another man. They live a secret passion and Alfred creates a fragrance that they both could wear, in remembrance of their lover. The perfume house was born. Through the years, the firm had many famous collaborators such as Jean Cocteau, Marie Laurencin, or Baccarat for their communication campaigns and the design of their bottles. Two hundred years later, the perfume house keeps this idea of high quality design for their creations with the direction of Amélie Huynh.

In 2019, d’Orsay opened a shop in the area of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris. Called the “Bureau Postal d’Orsay”, this shop is an homage to the long written correspondence Alfred d’Orsay and his lover had.

The design of the shop’s identity was given to be-poles, who decided to take another stand on the branding. While the logotype of the perfume house d’Orsay is based on Univers 49, a compressed sans serif, the studio used quite the opposite for the Bureau Postal, that is Mars Extended from Production Type. This clear contrast between the two typefaces underlines the special status of the shop regarding the brand and its concept-store dimension. Plus, while Mars Extended has a radical contemporary design, the letters molded in golden metal give a somewhat Art Deco atmosphere to the shop – which evokes the long history of the brand.

Afterglo is a new online shop focused on sex wellness. It offers a wide range of products related to sexuality, like sex toys, intimate care, etc. Their motto is to help people explore their sensuality and offer them anything they need to be at ease with their body and desires. The online shop has different categories that help browsing their products, with labels wide enough to give ideas and broaden one’s experience, like “In the Mood” and “Body Parts”, for example. Furthermore, the website aims at creating a community of customers, in order to show either sex-related art or sexual advice.

The design of the website was in the hands of Louis Paquet. He used soft pastel colors and beautiful nude pictures, mostly details of body parts. This smooth approach welcomes the user and conveys a feeling of familiarity as different body types are shown, as well as people in natural attitudes. The products are also photographed like cosmetics, so the website gives an overall feeling of self-care to the user, and is far from the pornographic imagery of sex shops, always evoking something forbidden. The website is set in Cardinal Fruit from Production Type and Aeonik from CoType Foundry. The serif is used in caps for titles and in mixed case for introductory texts: the sophistication of Cardinal Fruit works well with the products and with the theme of sexuality: its delicate design echoes floral patterns, and genitals have often been represented in the history of art in analogy to flowers (for example in Robert Mapplethorpe’s photographs). Aeonik adds a more “medical” voice, as all the products on the platform are chosen for their quality and hypoallergenic requirements.

Last but not least, the website has a special “vibrator mode” in the “(Vibes)” section: once you click on it, the browser window begins to vibrate while 3D-modeled sex toys appear and began floating on screen. A nice gadget that brings the sex experience a little closer.

Located in the heart of Buda, Mandragòra is a family-owned restaurant offering modern interpretations of various traditional Hungarian cuisine. In the beginning, the place started as a club-like bar which, over the years, has transformed into a fine-bistro-style restaurant without losing their special intimate atmosphere. They take traditional Hungarian dishes and reimagine them in a slightly more delicate and refined way.

The restaurant recently went through a major remodeling and the new visual identity was created along with renovations in the interior and kitchen. The branding and the interior design take their inspiration from the restaurant's name Mandragòra (Mandrake) using botanical elements, hand-drawn gestures, and a green color scheme to set the tone for a mysterious experience. Inspired by the magical plant, the identity aims to capture a unique mix of Ogg Display’s calligraphic and typographic forms complemented with a natural motif in perfect harmony. With developing the new design concept, the goal was to embrace the restaurant's new atmosphere and create an unforgettable experience that engages not just our taste, but all of the senses.​​

A forward-thinking club opened by WeWork in downtown Manhattan, Rise has a social vibe and a holistic approach. With a Roman-inspired Superspa, yoga room, sprawling gym and cafe, it’s a luxurious space where over-scheduled members can leave their devices behind and connect on a more personal level.

Mucca developed the strategy with the WeWork team, positioning it as a complete wellness experience. The dynamic brand system extends the energy of the logo to the signage, storytelling, packaging and digital design. With an exploding membership base and plans to expand to the West Coast, Rise is equipped to redefine the future of fitness.

Æbele Interiors offers a full range of bespoke interior design services – from initial concept and aesthetic counselling to coordination, execution and magazine-worthy finishing touches.

High-end photography in combination with Ivar Fine’s large elegant headlines radiate an international luxury vibe. To implement human elements we decided to present the designer behind the brand while complementing the headings with Haigrast, a script typeface that shows evidence of human handwriting. To find balance between these two distinct typefaces we have selected the neutral, yet elegant – GT America for subheadings and body text.

Branding and brochures for Berlin-based real estate project Nest45. The core element of the logo is the abstraction of a nest and the geometrical shapes that derive from it. Repetitive lines and circular forms are the core of the visual compositions, from the logo to its application of different surfaces, like windows or print media. The typography is reflecting these connotations at its best with the geomteric sans Poppins.
