This two-page advertisement for Jose Cuervo tequila was published in the March 1995 issue of The Face magazine.

The text “drink Cuervo Gold today” combines Fobia with the Little Creatures variant of FF Priska Serif. On the second page, the text “Because tomorrow..?” is in a version of Courier.

The words “Gold Tequila” and the small legal text on the first page use the normal style of FF Priska Serif.

The Paloma can from Straightaway Cocktails features New Forest, giving the flavor name a refined and contemporary presence that complements the drink’s bright blend of tequila, grapefruit, and tamarind. Designed by Each Other with illustration by Colby Brooks.

The secondary fonts are Domaine Sans Text for the small text and Triade for the logo.

Brand design studio Hello Comrade created a type-centric identity for AMO Tequila. In a category so often dressed in ornament, this feels like a clear, confident pour. ⁠

While logo and headings are in all-caps BN Dime, supported by Alternate Gothic, all body copy uses Halyard Display. Darden Studio’s sans serif features for text on the bottle labels and the website alike. There’s something special about seeing Halyard carry a brand like AMO Tequila, bold, front and center, without distraction.⁠

Javas Lehn Studio worked closely with the Solento team to concept, define, and articulate the brand identity system, bottle design and campaign imagery for a new type of premium organic sipping tequila.

The name Solento derived from combining the Spanish words for sun (sol) and slow (lento). The name set the tone for much of the brand expression and bottle design. These concepts run through every aspect of the brand identity: from the color palette (punctuated with golden yellows) to the bottle design, which is accented with diagonal ribs that evoke rays of sun, to the brand’s sundial logo. The Solento identity is infused with a warm, slow-sipping ethos, reminding us to slow down and enjoy the moment.

The whole identity is built around Simplon Mono, using its fixed letter-width to align the three signature 7-letters words into a squarish bloc. Simplon is paired with Neuzeit-Grotesk on stationery and the brand’s website.

Simplon Mono is part of the Simplon family, available from Swiss Typefaces.

A complete guide book to Tequila! The bilingual book uses various members from the Rayuela and Rayuela Display type series (Alejandro Lo Celso, PampaType).

Patrón tequila, introduced in 1989, uses Algerian for its main logo and elsewhere on its labels. The three departures are Burdeos in Vivaldi, Ultimat Vodka in Inoxida and Trajan, and Citrónge in Quill Perpendicular.
