Selfcare is a health-and-wellness brand founded by celebrity nutritionist Suman Agarwal, created to empower individuals with personalised knowledge and guidance for healthy food choices.

This project pairs Domaine Display and Quicksand for the Selfcare supplement range. Domaine Display is used for product names and key messaging, adding refinement and credibility while Quicksand supports with clear, approachable typography for dosage and nutritional information. The combination balances authority with warmth, helping the packaging feel trustworthy without becoming overly clinical.

The font Epoque Black was used on the cover and in the interior of this “Practical and Nutritious Recipes Guide” published by the nutrition cell of the Department of Health and Social Assistance of ALECE. In addition to being used on the cover with a stylized capital S, the font was used in the interior in the Bold weight for the titles. The text typeface is PT Sans.

Paris-based Nuoro sells wholesome drinks in powder form.

An identity with a Mediterranean soul that captures the essence of Sardinia and its way of life, reflecting the balance between nature, well-being, and community. Inspired by the longevity of its people and their deep connection with the environment, it goes beyond aesthetics to embody authenticity and mindfulness. Rooted in the concept of ikigai—the harmony of passion, mission, and balance—its identity represents genuine and tangible well-being.

Cuánto te pesa tu peso. Libérate de prohibiciones y etiquetas y sana la historia con tu cuerpo (“How much your weight weighs. Free yourself from prohibitions and labels, and heal your history with your body”) is a book on health and nutrition by Virginia Busnelli, published in Buenos Aires by El Ateneo, and designed by MilPalabras Estudio.

Alegreya and Alegreya Sans (Huerta Tipográfica) were used for the main text and as a secondary display type, while Margarita (PampaType) was used for the title on the cover as well as for all chapter headings in the interior.

David is a newly launched enterprise that designs “tools to increase muscle and decrease fat”. Their first product is a luxury protein bar. The main brand typeface used for the logo and headlines is Instrument Serif. On the wrappers as well as on the website, it’s paired with Suisse Int’l and ABC Monument Grotesk Mono.

RezeptExperte (“recipe expert”) is a food blog dedicated to people with high triglyceride or cholesterol values. The typeface chosen for all text is Vercetti. The logo uses Alike.

TT Globs is a part of the Ethos identity.

Ethos is a producer of dietary supplements made of collagen, which is a form of protein. It’s found in our skin, bones, tissues and tendons. In fact, it’s the most abundant protein in the body, making up 60–80% of the body’s total protein. Supplementing with collagen has enormous benefits for fitness and athletic performance.

The logo in TT Globs is paired with packaging typography in Brandon Grotesque.

TT Norms Pro is signature font of Onima. On the website, it’s paired with Source Serif.

Previously known as Yeastly, Onima is an innovation laboratory using leftover brewers yeast to create superfood ingredients that will change the way we produce. By removing the bitterness, Onima unlocked the potential of brewer’s yeast to be used as a delicious and nutritious food ingredient.

Viusal identity for Nutrilicious, the practice of nutrionist Michelle Lang. On Instagram, designer Mona Paula Osterkamp writes:

The featured typefaces are Pimpit by Benoit Bodhuin (whose playful and funky characters seemed to be the perfect match), used together with classy Tobias Light by Displaay.

Built around our mission, we started Athletic Greens more than a decade ago as a way to bring comprehensive and convenient daily nutrition to just about everybody. Taking a bunch of pills and capsules is hard on the stomach and hard to keep up with. To help each of us be at our best, we developed a better approach to providing your body with everything it needs for optimal performance.

The logo is custom drawn. The rest of the identity is composed using JHA Times Now (by Jan-Henrik Arnold) and 

TWK Lausanne (designed by Nizar Kazan).

Guanrakjae is a brand that sells premium health supplements containing eleven joint nutrients. The goals of the project were to emphasize ingredients for online sales, design for high package visibility, and convey to customers a harmonious and luxurious atmosphere that blends Korean tradition and modernity.

Hour Minute Seconds created the brand identity and package design for Guanrakjae.

Bloom was created to help women who are intimidated by supplements (and fitness overall) meet their full potential. The branding utilizes stylized ingredient illustrations to add modernity and charm, while a cleaned-up communication hierarchy brings focus to each SKU’s unique benefit. The logomark is a custom form of the typeface Gazpacho, transitioning the existing B into a more elevated, memorable, and curvaceous “Bloom” that health-conscious females can relate to. TT Travels and Timesquare serve as the brand’s primary fonts, used for all brand messaging.

Infographic poster made as a part of the typography course at Elisava (School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona). It is about the Cuban Libreta de abastecimientos (“food supply booklet”), an official document that for more than sixty years has been used for subsidizing and rationing food to Cuban citizens.

In the poster, I reflect the development of this document from lists that synthesize decades. A visual passage through time using a grid and typography, set in Formula.

A good question to ask a few days after New Year’s Eve!

This booklet was “prepared in the public interest for the medical profession”, initially by Strasenburgh Laboratories, with later editions credited to Pennwalt. Founded in Rochester in 1888, R.J. Strasenburgh Co. became the pharmaceuticals division of the Philadelphia-based Pennwalt Corp. in 1969. The first edition is from 1968. A “new expanded 15th edition” came out in 1982. Looks like the question will remain relevant forever.

Communication designer Jana Heinz dealt with an educational discrepancy in her Bachelor’s thesis she wrote while studying at the Trier University of Applied Sciences. “Every day, a lot of waste is produced in classrooms. This is particularly true when it comes to materials that are used or created on project days, such as posters (which have a very short lifespan).” Ironically, learning materials used when teaching sustainability are in strong contradiction to the learning objective. “In my concept of a project day on the topic of sustainability and consumption, the linking of content and form has the highest priority. All materials, their design and the handling of the final product are designed to consistently embody the learning objectives.”

She developed a mascot called “Environment Agent” (German: Umweltagentchen) that guides primary school pupils through six stations each with a different puzzle tasks: Resources, Nutrition, Waste, Consumption, CO₂ in everyday life, and Eco-labeling. The children are made aware of these topics in a playful way and learn how to deal with raw materials and their own consumption in a reflective way.

When designing the teaching materials, Jana Heinz always paid attention to the children’s perspective, which strongly influenced the typography and visual hierarchies. Explanatory texts and tasks are set using the Bold and Regular weights of the typeface FF Zwo. Its designer, Jörg Hemker, is an expert in the development of highly readable typefaces that combine humanistic and geometric qualities. The most recent example of this is his Superfamily Ika.

For the puzzles and the illustrations, Jana Heinz chose the script typeface Supermarker which was designed by Ulrike Rausch. With its felt-tip pen look, it was actually intended for use at the point of sale, but what sparks customer interest in busy and distracting shopping situations attracts even more attention in the classroom. The clever programming of Supermarker uses three (consonants) and four (vowel) letter variants to create the impression of authentic handwriting.

The close link between content and form becomes clear when one looks at the formal language of the illustrations. Twenty-six stamp shapes form the basis of all illustrations, whether it is a type of fruit or vegetable, the shape of a person’s face or even the ‘Environment Agent’ mascot itself. The use of the illustrations is based on the principle of reuse. The conception of the game and the conscious use of the working materials ensure that many children can use the same tools. If the project is carried out as planned, there is virtually no waste on the project day.

In summer 2013, Philipp Schrempp and Tobias Schüle founded Foodspring, a direct-to-consumer brand for sports nutrition. Six years later the confectionery giant Mars acquired the Berlin startup. Currently available in twelve target markets and with over 100 employees, Foodspring is now considered to be one of the largest companies for targeted nutrition in Europe.

With a product range of shakes, bars and snacks, Foodspring has built a nutrition and fitness platform that creates a personalized customer experience. In addition to a special coach offer, customers have access to recipes, the free “Body Check” which generates personal product recommendations and many workout videos.

In 2020, Foodspring’s website team launched a new brand identity. Product design team lead by Sara Furlani opted for Christoph Koeberlin’s Pangea Text, more precisely for the regular and semi bold weights, due to the interface design’s demands for legibility and readability. They tested different geometric sans serif typefaces to see which one improves the shop’s accessibility and unifies the customer experience best and eventually decided to go with Pangea Text.

F37 Ginger by F37 Foundry is in use by Character for the identity of Care/of, a personalized supplements subscription service. Words from their portfolio site:

On the Care/of website, F37 Ginger is paired with the serif Lora by Cyreal.

F37 Ginger by F37 Foundry in use for the brand identity by Feel, a nutrition company creating supplements backed by science.

F37 Ginger is used for everything from the logo to packaging. On the website, it’s paired with Playfair Display by Claus Eggers Sørensen for headings.

Jubilat and Futura PT are the primary brand typefaces of Lindora.

Lindora Clinic is a clinical weight management and wellness provider, delivering nutrition, exercise and stress relief counseling. Darden Studio’s trustworthy slab serif Jubilat is used as their display typeface in ads, signs, and products. It also serves for headings on the website, where it is paired with ParaType’s classic sans serif Futura PT for all smaller text. The Lindora Clinic wordmark is based on Raleway.

So we decided to use Graphik and Adobe Garamond together to have a scientific but warm feeling. Graphik gives the modern and technological characteristics of the brand while Garamond sets the voice tone to a softer one.
