Tisse is a Marseille-based kombucha brand. Their workshop is both a place of production and a laboratory of experimentation, where they imagine drinks with singular flavors and original aromatic profiles that reflect the region that inspires them. With ingredients sourced as locally and organically as possible, Tisse offers kombucha that is naturally low in sugar, unpasteurized, and delivered sustainably across Marseille.

For the redesign of their brand, Tisse collaborated with Image Format to express both the craft and the contemporary energy that defines Tisse. The visual identity balances grounded qualities with a bold, modern edge, capturing the dual character of kombucha: rooted in tradition yet alive and fresh.

To achieve this, they turned to two typefaces by Marc Rouault available at Sharp Type. Trois Mille, with its high contrast and striking presence, gives the brand a contemporary voice. Tarnac Sans, a slab serif with a historic feel, anchors that energy with authenticity and craft.

Designer Hayley Lim taps into the expressive tension of Faust (designed by Bouk Ra and released by Type Department) to craft the visual identity for StillBitter Lemonade Co., a brand that leans into contrast – tart yet elegant, bold yet refined. Faust’s razor-sharp serifs and exaggerated curves lend the brand a sense of cultivated drama, perfectly echoing the product’s name and attitude.

Used across packaging and brand assets, Faust brings high contrast and an air of irreverent sophistication. The typeface balances between ornamental and functional, delivering standout shelf presence while maintaining readability – ideal for a modern beverage brand that wants to feel both niche and premium.

In the hands of Lim, Faust becomes more than a type choice – it’s a statement of flavor, edge, and aesthetic bite. The accompanying sans is Kilotype’s Oldschool Grotesk Compact.

Health-Ade, known for its kombucha beverages, has entered a new market with SunSip, a line of healthier sodas. Seventies script font by Sproviero Type was tapped for the project by Flock, who handled the fun and fresh brand and design work for the gut-healthy drink company. They used Balgin Bold from Studio Sun as the perfect sans serif companion.

Seventies had minor customization work done by Maximiliano Sproviero with some help from The Type Founders. This included lowering the dot on the i, widening the bowl of the p and swashing its tail, along with a few subtle tweaks for a more streamlined look.

Additional fonts used on the can labels include Kostic’s Roc Grotesk, Klim Type Foundry’s Söhne Schmal, and Helvetica with Condensed.

The logo is composed of a collection of different typefaces that blend together in harmony.

We just launched our new branding and website for our studio, Yellow Fellow. We worked on it for the past year with a team of talented designers and coders. The website's homepage is a playful interactive environment full of thumbnail animations inspired by the studio's symbol – the lemon eye.

We've also created the studio's brand style guide which is also based on the lemon eye symbol. The main typeface is TheBasics, a sans-serif font with a geometric and classic character, featuring varying letter widths that create playful touch and a unique rhythm. It’s used in proportional and monospaced styles. To complement the main font, the serif Abril Titling Condensed is used for longer texts. The website uses Abril Text.

The studio specializes in crafting graphics packages for films and series, building design systems for brands, creating stunning explainers and mind-blowing music videos.

We're passionate about making creative moving content which is wacky and stylish. We use a lot of mixed-media approaches in our style as we believe that taking different elements/ideas and combining them creates new and fresh visuals.

Halfday Iced Tea can design using the new logo and Hobeaux by OH no Type Co

Halfday Iced Tea, a refreshing and healthy beverage brand made with organic tea and with low sugar content, underwent a rebrand in the summer of 2022 with the help of Someone & Others creative agency out of Los Angeles, CA. The logo was designed by Rob Clarke, and is based off of a font called Piepie designed by Ryoichi Tsunekawa and published by Dharma Type. Hobeaux by OH no Type Co. is used as supportive text on the product packaging, as well as a headline text in their website, along with ITC Franklin Gothic for supporting text.

What To Do With Your Bad Car: An Action Manual for Lemon Owners was edited by consumer advocate Ralph Nader together with Lowell Dodge and Ralf Hotchkiss. It was published in 1971, a few years after Nader’s bestseller Unsafe at Any Speed: The Designed-In Dangers of the American Automobile.

The jacket design and photography was provided by Arnold Skolnick, who’s best known for the Woodstock poster. His lemon on wheels is a visual pun referencing the (American) English slang term for a car – and by extension any consumer product – with several manufacturing defects. According to Wikipedia, “[i]ts first attribution to mean a problematic car was in a Volkswagen advertisement created by Julian Koenig and Helmut Krone as part of an advertisement campaign managed by William Bernbach” in 1960, see this post on Fonts In Use.

Fun aside: another term for the same thing is a Friday car – based on the premise that the involved assembly line workers had their minds already on the weekend. The German equivalent is a Montagsauto, i.e. a Monday car. Here the assumption is that the workers were still drunk, or had otherwise not yet regained their usual routine after the weekend.

The typeface used on the cover and also for titles inside the book is Cooper Black. Text is composed in Caledonia.

The logo of Daily-C, a brand of vitamin products by F&F Foods, is based on Yagi Double. This late 1960s/early 1970s typeface included two forms both for C and Y. The ones used for Daily-C are custom, though.

Founded in Chicago in 1936, F&F Foods went out of business in 2009.

The brand typography of StrangeLove combines the serif Wulkan with GT America and its fixed-width sibling GT America Mono. The latter is used for ASCII art and little puzzle games.

Melbourne-based StrangeLove is a dynamic and unconventional drinks company. Building on the success of their Tonic & Soda ranges, They saw an opportunity to disrupt the sparkling water category. Introducing “Another drink by StrangeLove” StrangeLove sparkling waters. Zero sugar, zero calories & all natural flavours. After looking at many periodic tables, analysing mineral content and PH levels we saw a parallel in computer generated ascii code. Using the strategy of “borrowing from the past and modernising for the future” we had used for their other ranges. We created the variant graphics from individual text characters, a graphic technique that was used to create computer graphics in the 1980s. Embracing the idea that the water is made from many individual properties put together. The result is ownable unexpected design execution, that make the products stand out on shelf, as well as connecting with its core audience.
