Packaging design for Xochi Prebiotic Agave Soda made with 100% natural ingredients, respecting the traditions surrounding aguamiel.

The concept aims to capture the essence of Mexican cultural elements and create a brand identity that pays homage to its vibrant heritage from a contemporary point of view. We drew inspiration from the streets, using a wide range of references such as local signage, festive traditional costumes, decorations, flowers, and everyday graphic expressions.

We wanted the cans to feel like a celebration of Mexican culture from a pop perspective, where colors are vibrant and typography is bold, oversized, and playful.

Sant’Or is the first certified biodynamic winery in Greece. As this is an important advantage of the winery, Kommigraphics were assigned the redesign of the winery’s labels, with the aim of enhancing the biodynamic and vegan nature of the different wines it produces.

The design of the labels refers to the fauna of the area Santameri in Achaea, which is where the Sant’Or winery is located. Through an abstract and at the same time archaic-ish design of the illustrated animals and insects, they aimed at the emotional and direct connection of the consumer with the product and consequently with the winery.

The logotype is set in Cako. The accompanying sans appears to be GT America Expanded.

Gordita is used for the design studio’s presentation, but is not part of the winery’s identity.

Hawks is a Sacramento area restaurant. I thought this was an interesting use of Richard Lipton’s Bickham Script. The name/logo uses all lowercase, with two swash characters for the h and k. I love the variant they have used with the rooster sitting on the tail of the swash h. The logo was created by Sheila Buchanan Designs, a Los Angeles design studio that specializes in creations for the restaurant and food industry.

Cordial wishes for the year 1902 from the E.J. Genzsch foundry. Genzsch & Heyse’s branch in Munich was founded by Emil Julius Genzsch in 1881. Since 1897, the type foundry was located at Kapuzinerstraße 38. The greeting card showcases their Diplom-Ornamente and the Neu-Deutsch types, both cut after designs by local artist Otto Hupp. It was included as a supplement to the first issue for 1902 of the Archiv für Buchgewerbe trade journal.

First cast in 1900, Hupp’s Neudeutsche Schrift is used with a decorated initial, a floral heart, and the usual two forms for s/ſ as well as ligatures for ch and ck. The Diplom ornaments depict hares, birds, unicorns, a crowned ibex skull, and cranes with crowned human heads.

Barbieri is used for the posters to Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness. From Wikipedia:

Poster design for a Boxing Day event by Good Company Records in Perth, 2019. The brief called for a “riff on Christmas symbology”, with the final design referencing generic pre-Christian/pagan Yule festivals.

Brazilian edition of Jäniksen vuosi (1975, English: The Year of the Hare) by Finnish novelist Arto Paasilinna, translated by Lilia Loman and Pasi Loman and published by Bertrand Brasil.

The illustration style matches the organic qualities of Tenez, a didone display typeface from Plau. The quirky uppercase ‘R’ has enough personality to grab the reader’s attention, but doesn’t create an unnecessary distraction. The cool geometric style of GT Walsheim provides a nice contrast to both other elements, creating an unusual type match.
