Studio DAD is a writing and design agency that builds brand identity systems, content, campaigns and experiences. In embarking on a full rebrand for landscape architecture firm Shapiro Didway, DAD developed a deeply collaborative process with the client’s brand leadership team. Over the course of more than a year, there were design charrettes, internal and external testing, and many deep discussions around how best to realize the spirit of the firm.

DAD designed a comprehensive identity system that would touch every aspect of the firm—from marketing to working documents to portfolio photos to environmental design. A completely new website was designed and built, and a brand launch campaign sealed the deal. The wordmark is set in Yport. The brand fonts are Beirut, Roboto Mono and New Hero

Échelles was born out of a desire to create an interdisciplinary platform for Environmental Design, presenting work from voices as diverse as the scales of design it touches upon.

The publication plays with the limits, of and between these scales, looking to bridge the gap between different design practices by exploring the artistic, historical, social, and political implications of design. Échelles is an annual publication comprising essays, criticism, stories, interviews, conversations and reflections about the built environment.
