Stush is a Jamaican patty company founded by Opal Rowe in Toronto, Canada. For the creation of the Stush logo, design agency Mosaic used the typeface Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber. The design studio describes the core ideas behind the branding as follows On Behance:

In Jamaica, the word stush is slang for 'proper'. So when our client came to us asking for help to reinvent her brand, we wanted to ensure that we stayed clear of the visual clichés and tropes normally associated with the country and the culture. Instead, we were inspired by the colours and visual language of vintage Jamaican Dance Hall signs and typography. With that, combined with a whimsical copy and illustration style, we helped our client create an emotive brand that can't be ignored on shelf and on social.

Kiosk is paired with two (yet to be identified) sans serifs: one typeface is used in both proportional and monospaced styles for smaller sizes, the other is a wide sans serif used in all caps in logo lockups. [It’s Plaak, see comments.]

The Jamaica Gleaner has a nice profile of Howard Moo Young, where he mentions a stint working in New York City and turning down an offer to work for the legendary Ed Benguiat. Maybe because he could do things like this cover: For All We Know.

Smile Orange is a 1976 satirical film set in Jamaica. It follows the day-to-day life of Ringo, played by Carl Bradshaw, a smooth-talking waiter and con-man. The film explores the tourism industry in the Caribbean and seems to suggest there are similarities to slavery in that industry. — Wikipedia

The typeface that is used throughout the movie’s identity – from titles and poster to the cover of the soundtrack – is Eightball. Chances are it was in parts picked for its o glyph, which doesn’t only resemble the eponymous eight ball, but also works for suggesting a juicy orange. Canada Type named their digital revival Orotund, acknowledging the fact that the o with the off-centered counter is its hallmark character.

Even though [Smile Orange] looks at Jamaica’s social class struggles and every day life, it seems to be a far cry from the issues and struggles you see in the aforementioned movies [The Harder They Come (1972), Rockers (1978), and Countryman (1982)]. More like a light hearted comedy, there is a flicker of hope for Smile Orange: the soundtrack.

Smile Orange is peppered with some decent instrumental Reggae, as well as Calypso, and Jazz. Having been to Jamaica, I can only feel like this is the kind of stuff pumping from the speakers all through the resorts in the mid ’70s. The soundtrack was written and composed by American bandleader/ trombonist Melba Liston and recorded at Ken Khouri’s Federal Records in Jamaica [what later] became the massive Tuff Gong.

Clean and simple use of ITC Grouch with an alternate R. The original version of Grouch for phototypesetting included a few variants of letters.

The sample of Grouch with the alternate letters, as shown in Lubalin Smith Carnase Typefaces catalog, 1970. The alternate letters were not published when the typeface was digitized.

Designer Jon Daniel created the new identity for the Brixton Splash festival, alongside street banners and a gallery of ‘Jamaicons’ posters to celebrate the 50th anniverary of [Jamaica’s] independence. […] The rebrand included the new logo applied on all related festival material, with superlite posters sited across the Lambeth area of south London and street banners hung throughout Brixton high street.
