Hachette has launched Food Lovers Travel, a collection of travel guides dedicated to the best culinary spots worldwide. Fagostudio designed the covers for the first six books: Rome, Seoul, Paris, London, Montreal, and Amsterdam.

The layouts were designed by Hachette. They use My Creative Land’s Roca​​​​​ for the title of this collection, with FinalSix by Type-Ø-Tones for the subtitle and Very Cool Studio’s Gooper for the yellow stickers. The illustrations feature type, too – see the captions for details.

The concept is based on illustrated facades representing these major cities, highlighting their culinary identities, architectural details, local specialties, and lifestyles. Food Lovers Travel aims to turn every trip into a culinary adventure by featuring the best places to eat, whether restaurants, markets, or speciality shops. Eating well is an essential part of the journey.

The Palomar is a restaurant in Soho, London. Bernhard Brushscript SG is used for their wordmark. It’s also used throughout The Palomar Cookbook, a cookbook of their recipes, published by Hachette, UK. The other typefaces used for the book include Eurostile Extended and Sabon.

The book was designed by Here Design, but their page about this work seems to be broken at the time of writing.

En amour (“in love”) is a book from Regards Coupables (a pseudonym under which “a sculptor” published their erotic drawings), featuring over 70 illustrations and 60 quotes by the artist. It was published by Hachette in September 2021. Antica is used throughout in multiple styles and weight. Design by Theo Contestin, who writes:

Composed of illustrations and poetic texts, the book en amour is built on a progression from black to red, to characterize the amplification of the expression of desire and love, from the playful approach to the ecstasy of bodies. This amplification of desire resonates in the typography, with the growth of the letters or the variation of their shapes, as the proximity of the merging souls progresses throughout the book.

For more than 20 years, Trax magazine has dived into the electronic music ocean, carefully curating, analyzing and reviewing all things related to the genre.

To commemorate this milestone, the Trax team gave birth to a huge retrospective book, looking at the past two decades. More than just a collection of archives from the magazine, the book is full of all-new material.

Starting with a foreword by Jack Lang, past France’s Minister of Culture and originator of the Fête de la Musique and the Techno Parade, the book chronicles 20 years of local electronic scenes from all over the world, 20 years of parties, from major ones to underground ones, 20 years of DJs and faces who made this music, 20 years of technological innovations regarding the tools and hardwares used to produce electronic sounds, and many more, including a list of 300 essential records.

The art direction of the book has been given to French studio Large, already in charge of the magazine look. Large chose to stay consistent with the magazine design while bringing some new features to make the book self-sufficient. That’s why the main text is set with Spectral, an open-source typeface designed by Production Type and released on Google Fonts, while titles and quotes are set with Stratos, already used in the mag.
