These posters, T-shirts, and bags are all part of the identity designed by André Cruz for Turno da Noite (“Night Shift”), a conference on night culture and its economy held at Porto’s Maus Habitos in July 2025. The text is set in Tokyto by Benoît Bodhuin, paired with what appears to be Neue Haas Grotesk.

The exhibition Dear Future presents ten artistic positions by young graduates of Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. The joint presentation offers a critical perspective on the present and a vision of the future. Marlene Bonamy, Lynn Gerstmair, Leon Meschede, Jonas Mosbacher, Hanbyeol Mun, Todor Joe Musev, Keren Rothenberg, Anna Taradina, Ayaha Tokusa, and JiongJi Wang provide insight into their individual approaches to analyzing the present and future and translating them into artistic formats.

Two freshly graduated female students hold their diplomas up in the air while looking at the viewer, with one exposing a naked leg. For those who consider the combination of the image with the subtitle “A Report Card on the Love Generation” too vague, a row of clip-art-like images has been added below the film title, detailing what the viewer will be seeing: some romance and no shortage of fast and motorized machines.

On the IMDb website, the film is summarized as “one for forgiving fans of 70’s counter-culture flicks” by user Red Barracuda:

For me, some films get by almost exclusively on their early 70’s era vibes. The Young Graduates is such a movie. [...] It’s not particularly strong in the story department but for what it’s worth it revolves around a teenage girl who starts an affair with one of her teachers; later on, her and her friend set off on a road trip where they encounter various stock and trade characters of the day.

The typefaces are trendy choices. Harry (1966) was released a few years before by VGC for setting headlines on their Photo Typositor machines. Bradley was published as a typeface by ATF in 1895. In the 1960s and 1970s it lived a second life along numerous other “novelty” typefaces of the late 1800s, after they were made available for phototype and/or rub-down lettering.

S’exposer au vent (“Exposing yourself to the wind”) is a book that gathers conversations around the project of floating wind turbines in the Gulf of Lion. It is published by the Bureau des guides du GR2013. This cultural association carries out projects that offer original experiences and situations to a wide audience in and around the Aix-Marseille metropolis.

Racist Traces is a project by Zinografie curated by Setareh Alipour for a peaceful coexistence.

On Saturday, 25 September 2021 portraits of people affected by everyday racism with their stories of experience were exhibited in Büsingpark in Offenbach am Main, Germany. It is about different negative experiences with fellow citizens, in the search for a job, the housing search, to discrimination by authorities or security apparatuses.

The aim is to encourage people to deal with the issue of everyday racism, to take a stance as an observer and to consciously stand up in everyday life against the statements and actions of others and for a respectful and peaceful society.

Teen Cuisine, A Beginner’s Guide to French Cooking, published in 1969 and designed by Peter Max. The cookbook by Abby Gail Kirsch and Sandra Bangilsdorf Klein features menu suggestions and simplified recipes for preparing soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts in the French manner. It also includes a glossary of cooking terms and describes special utensils and techniques.

The pages feature intensely vibrating color combinations and gradient-on-gradient text, as well as Art Nouveau inspired 1960s illustrations of seemingly recipe unrelated subjects.

BYTE’s exuberant opening spread for a series of articles about the ‘C programming language’ — in 1983 a somewhat recent addition to the programming landscape, today a fundamental building block that underpins much of our computing infrastructure, including many higher-level programming languages. I love that one of the articles in the series is by a writer named James Joyce.

The text typeface is Univers. The title in purple Helvetica caps is integrated into a giant C that looks like it’s modeled after Copperplate Gothic.
