Health-Ade, known for its kombucha beverages, has entered a new market with SunSip, a line of healthier sodas. Seventies script font by Sproviero Type was tapped for the project by Flock, who handled the fun and fresh brand and design work for the gut-healthy drink company. They used Balgin Bold from Studio Sun as the perfect sans serif companion.

Seventies had minor customization work done by Maximiliano Sproviero with some help from The Type Founders. This included lowering the dot on the i, widening the bowl of the p and swashing its tail, along with a few subtle tweaks for a more streamlined look.

Additional fonts used on the can labels include Kostic’s Roc Grotesk, Klim Type Foundry’s Söhne Schmal, and Helvetica with Condensed.

Top Billing is a top-heavy all-caps slab serif made at Photo-Lettering sometime in or before 1965. No designer is credited, but it was probably drawn either by Ed Benguiat himself, or under his guidance. Top Billing comes in two styles, a Spurred one (which we use for the sample), and a plain one.

The latter can be seen on the cover of Incense and Peppermints, the debut album by psychedelic rock band Strawberry Alarm Clock, released in 1967 on UNI Records, including the titular hit single. The designers elongated the bottom parts of selected letterforms, counterbalancing their top-heaviness.

The cover design is credited to Lazarus (2)/LePrevost and features a photo of the six band members taken by Ed Caraeff (who was 17 at the time!), assisted by Rodney Bingenheimer. The clothing is by Sat Purush, an East Indian boutique clothing shop in Westwood, California, specializing in handmade kurtas. The portrait is framed by a striped pattern and topped by Art Noveau-like flourishes, including the strawberries from the band’s name.

For the 50th anniversary of the album’s release in 2017, the band reenacted the iconic photo, again with clothing by fashion designer Cathy Scarms of Sat Purush. The photo was taken by Robert Jacobs.

With our funny campaign we bring Karls strawberries on everyone’s lips. Because after a century, the strawberry original is advertising its delicious little fruits for the first time. So we gave them the appearance they deserve: iconic, playful, red. So that every motif feels like a visit to Karls adventure villages. Sweet, right?

The typeface used for the campaign is Arnet by Ultra Kuhl. The (preexisting) logo combines Res Publica for “Karls” with True North Script for “Das Original”.

The name of this crispy wafer biscuits with strawberry cream, لوكو , is written using Zawiya Bold. The Latin equivalent, Loco, appears to use matching lettering. The product description is set in Boutros GE SS Two (Arabic) and Optima Bold (English), with various other fonts used for the trilingual list of ingredients and other small print.

The wafer biscuits are produced by Basateen Baladi Food Industry, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The font used for the company name, بساتين بلادي (Basateen Baladi) is unidentified.

Omnes is the primary typeface of Yoplait Ireland, a franchisee of the world’s largest yogurt brand.

Yoplait features Omnes Bold to spell out the qualities of their fruit yogurt: “joyful”, “tasty”, “yummy” – always built around a custom drawn y, which loosely follows the rounded design of Omnes. This letter also serves as container for fruit imagery, and is the key visual on the packaging.

Other members of the Omnes family by Darden Studio – including lighter weights and italic styles – are used for the packaging design and in social media graphics. Here, Omnes is paired with various informal brush script styles, some of which are from Organika (Mika Melvas) and Blog Script (Sudtipos).

Across the Universe is a 2007 jukebox musical romantic drama film directed by Julie Taymor, centered on songs by the English rock band The Beatles. The script is based on an original story credited to Taymor, Dick Clement, and Ian La Frenais, and based on the song of the same name by Lennon–McCartney. The title on the movie poster references the Beatles’ famous drop-T logo from 1963. It looks like it’s based on Bootle (2001), a free font that expands the wordmark to a full alphabet. The secondary typefaces are ITC Avant Garde Gothic for “All you need is love” and “In theaters this fall”, and an unidentified compressed sans for the credits.
