Its forms for <strong>h m n</strong> with the horizontal exit stroke might have been inspired by a similar face shown by <a href="https://fontsinuse.com/foundry/1719/farmer" target="_self">Farmer</a> in 1896 as <a href="https://archive.org/details/sim_american-printer_1896-11_18_2/page/188/mode/2up">Vogue</a>. <a href="https://fontsinuse.com/foundry/1028/stephenson-blake" target="_self">Stephenson Blake</a> in England carried it under the name <a href="https://archive.org/details/specimensofpoint00step/page/226/mode/2up?q=Hogarth">Hogarth</a> as early as 1897. <a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/foundry/1729/photoscript" data-entity-code-id="1729" data-entity-code-type="Foundry">Photoscript</a> revived Obelisk for phototypesetting sometime between 1968 and 1970.</p>

<p>Here it can be seen in use for a recording of Gustav Holst’s <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Planets"><cite>The Planets</cite></a>, sandwiched between two unrelated pieces by Sibelius, and reissued in 1971 by British budget label <a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/tags/17945/golden-hour-records" data-entity-code-id="17945" data-entity-code-type="Tag">Golden Hours</a>. The cover photo is a stock moonscape from NASA. The Moon isn’t a planet, of course, but then again, budgets are budgets.</p>

<p>When the reissue got <a href="https://www.discogs.com/release/7811339-Gustav-HolstLondon-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Conducted-By-Sir-Adrian-Boult-The-Planets">reissued</a> by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everest_Records">Everest Records</a>, the two embracing Sibelius tracks were dropped, but the cover design retained. The reference on the cover was simply blacked out. It’s still <a href="https://www.discogs.com/release/16458132-Gustav-HolstLondon-Philharmonic-Orchestra-Conducted-By-Sir-Adrian-Boult-The-Planets/image/SW1hZ2U6NTA4ODIzMDQ=">visible in some printings</a>.</p>
