Once Upon a Dream is the fourth studio album by psychedelic rock band The Rascals, released on February 19, 1968.

The album cover design and the sculptures featured therein were designed by Dino Danelli (b. 1940), the drummer of the band. Aileen Winter is credited for the typography.

The band name and album title are both set in Chwast Art Tone (c. 1966) by Seymour Chwast (b. 1931).

Mierop Ginger Snap C (Photo-Lettering, 1969) in early use for the cover of a sampler of rock music by ATCO Records, featuring songs by the (no longer Young) Rascals, Bee Gees, Cream, Buffalo Springfield, Vanilla Fudge, and Iron Butterfly.

Contact Bold Condensed is used for the titles – which are interpreted by means of illustration, in an eclectic mix of styles, including all kinds of references ranging from the biblical forbidden fruit to Magritte and the Liberty Bell. The band names are set in all-caps Neue Aurora IX. Loring Eutemey, the cover designer, often dug into new additions from Photo-Lettering’s library of display typefaces.

Probably the most prominent application of Halloween? The bold all-caps typeface featuring cookie-cutter counters with accentuating contour lines was used for the cover of Groovin’. The third album by rock band The Young Rascals was released in July 1967 and peaked at #5 on the Billboard Top LPs charts. For their next album, the band was renamed to The Rascals. The album cover was designed by Loring Eutemey, following an idea by the band’s drummer Dino Danelli, and featuring an illustration by Lynn Rubin.

Two years earlier, Halloween had already be used on the cover of the debut album by The Lovin’ Spoonful.

Stereo release with a sticker pointing out the inclusion of the hit “How Can I Be Sure”.

An early use of Milton Glaser’s Baby Fat for the cover of the self-titled debut album by The Young Rascals (later known as The Rascals), released in March 1966 on Atlantic Records.

The note about the inclusion of the #1 hit “Good Lovin’” is set in Haas Inserat-Grotesk / Neue Aurora VIII. It was initially added in the form of a sticker. For this later pinting, it was integrated into the cover.
