Secondary type for the ad campaign was mostly Kabel Black for copy. Variation of an existing merch tagline by Online Ceramics

Recorded in 2019 by Leon Bridges featuring John Mayer, “Inside Friend” sounds very timely, right now. Cover artwork by Online Ceramics who also designed Mayer’s 2018 single “New Light.” Online Ceramics is also offering two shirt designs up for sale, with proceeds partially going to Covid-19/Coronavirus efforts. Mushmouth PB is a 2018 digital interpretation of Albert by Lettergraphics. The title is in Pluto, or probably the digital version named K22 Lucifer No. 1.

John Mayer’s “New Light” single makes a pretty serious departure in the context of his other album covers. The fascinating duo Online Ceramics puts their signature image-making to work for the multi-platinum recording artist.

I thought that using something from the Photo-Lettering arsenal would be a decent fit for the two Madison Square Garden gigs. To my eyes, the high contrast and sweeping curves in Ed Benguiat’s Caslon epitomize the golden era of NYC typography.
