Paz Errázuriz: Coleções Fundación MAPFRE was a major retrospective of this Chilean photographer’s work shown at the Instituto Moreira Salles (IMS) in São Paulo, Brazil. Errázuriz’ career began during the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet as she photographed the different marginalized groups that were seldomly represented. From individuals admitted to psychiatric hospitals, transvestites, members of precarious circuses, prostitutes and even amateur boxers, each black-and-white portrait captures a gripping story.

The idea behind the exhibition and the communication design was to let the pictures free on the white walls and guide the visitors by the totems, with the green sides, that point out each series. All the exhibition text is on the totems too.

The exhibition would open on March 17, 2020. However, when everything was ready, the cultural center closed its doors iin the wake of the pandemic that practically paralyzed the world. The exhibition was finally open to the public from 13 October to 23 December 2020.
