IWB Lachenmayer is a structural engineering company that has been rebranded following the fusion of two companies. Art director Irena Cizerle was commissioned to develop this branding. She selected the Finador typeface from Fincker Font Cuisine as the corporate font.

Volksans is the brand typeface used by SMD. The logo is based on Eurostile, with modications.

Fundiciones de Ódena, S.A., or Funosa for short, is a Spanish foundry that produces cast iron components. Founded in 1916 and based in Òdena, Barcelona, the company manufactures parts for multiple sectors, including automotive, agriculture, construction, machinery, and railway infrastructure.

Their new website combines Scope with Inter. The logo is based on Futura Black.

On the Studio Matthews website, we can read:

The 76,000 sq ft IEB features new, modern spaces for collaborative learning, acting as an informal academic hub for undergraduate engineering majors. The building was designed for students with significant input from students. “They told us what they needed and we listened,” said Dan Ratner, the college’s associate dean for academic affairs. “The IEB was created to support the education and development of every student in the College of Engineering and to give them a sense of belonging.” We worked closely with the school’s Office of Inclusive Excellence to curate a dynamic welcome message just inside the entry, as well as inspiring quotes that can be discovered throughout the building’s study spaces.

To design this project, Studio Matthews used the typeface Maax Mono designed by Damien Gautier and distributed by 205TF.

In June 2025, MAN Energy Solutions – a titan of German engineering with roots dating back to 1758 – underwent a massive strategic and visual transformation, rebranding as Everllence. This shift marks the company’s evolution from a traditional manufacturer of large-scale diesel engines and turbomachinery into a frontrunner of industrial decarbonization. The name is a portmanteau of “Ever” (signifying historical continuity and pioneering “first-ever” innovations like the original diesel engine) and “Excellence”.

Developed by design agency Strichpunkt, the new visual identity is built around the motto “Moving Big Things to Zero”. It ditches the heavy, industrial legacy of the MAN logo in favor of a modular, future-proof design system intended to bridge the gap between heavy engineering and high-tech sustainability.

The choice of Nexa by Fontfabric as the primary typeface is central to this new aesthetic. Nexa’s geometric construction provides a clean, optimistic, and modern feel that aligns with the company’s focus on hydrogen technology, carbon capture, and large-scale heat pumps. At the same time, the font’s sturdy architecture and excellent legibility retain a sense of the ‘industrial muscle’ required for a company that powers nearly 50% of global trade via its maritime engines. The typeface is used across all digital touchpoints, corporate communications, and global signage, successfully humanizing a 250-year-old engineering giant for the net-zero era.

The font used for the logo and all texts, including in the web application, is Akko, which is very well suited due to its technical appearance.

The color areas of the logo form the basis for a modular system that can be used in a wide variety of ways and has a high recognition value.

École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Metz (ENI Metz, or ENIM) is a French engineering school established in 1960.

In September 2025, the school announced a rebranding designed by Metz-based studio steez.

The new wordmark is set in Scope, with slight modifications to the letters i and M. The tagline uses Sora. Additional typefaces use in the identity include Cal Sans, Plus Jakarta Sans, and Roboto Mono.

Layer Performance is an Aachen-based startup developing software for 3D printing. The company was recognized as Digital Startup of the Year by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in September 2025.

Earlier this year, Layer Performance launched a new website that continues the visual direction introduced with their 2022 interim landing page. The design combines Scope and Inter – Scope is used for titles, headlines, and highlights, while Inter is used for body text and longer passages.

Ronan Space Systems is a Canadian space startup focused on designing, developing, and building launch-ready technology for the challenges of tomorrow’s space industry. Founded by Andrew Ronan and Sarah Thompson, the company is driven by a bold ambition: to shape the future of humanity beyond Earth.

The visual identity was developed by Zak:

We positioned Ronan as a pioneer with perspective; a daring voice in a new era of cosmic exploration. Inspired by ancient petroglyphs, the team was passionate about doing something different – about leaving behind a mark that reflects our ever-evolving humanity.

The brand we created speaks with a strange but optimistic voice. Its visual language is organic and adaptable, evoking both the past and the far future. The result is a brand that feels undeniably Ronan.

The brand typography uses the Extended widths of PP Monument by Pangram Pangram, which has recently grown to count five widths, each in nine weights plus italics. The complementary monospaced sans serif is Basis Grotesque Mono [see comments].

RIVR is a Swiss robotics company, a pioneer in physical AI, focusing on last-mile delivery. The company uses BVH Eddi to enhance its website. This typeface shows its perfect suitability for headlines and text.

RIVR is redefining last-mile delivery—bringing parcels, goods, groceries, and fresh meals straight to your doorstep. Powered by General Physical AI, RIVR enables faster, safer, and more sustainable delivery at scale.

Under the title Projektor, the annual nationwide Tag der Architektur und Ingenieurbaukunst (“Day of Architecture and Civil Engineering”) offers a special program for young people in Hamburg. To appeal to this target group, a poster was designed for Hamburg’s urban space and the passenger television in the subway. The pattern, which is inspired by tangram, the Chinese puzzle game, is likely to be familiar to many six- to eighteen-year-olds and alludes to the theme of the event series. Symmetrical and strong-charactered, perhaps not easily readable letters are intended to appeal to and inspire children and young people as well as their parents who are interested in architecture.

The poster was animated to encourage interaction, which is also required in the various workshops offered. The animation can be seen by scanning the QR-code (with a smartphone with Instagram installed). Transparency causes the geometric shapes to blur with the background and enable playful effects.

Complicated medical technology, presented in a simple and understandable way: a new Arcomed brochure, set in McQueen Grotesk Light and Medium

The Swiss company Arcomed AG claims to be one of the world’s leading developers in the field of infusion technology. An infusion pump is a continuous dosing system for the (usually intravenous) administration of medicines and infusions. For almost 50 years, Arcomed has pioneered numerous innovations in this field, making an important contribution to patient safety and care. Today, Arcomed supplies an international customer base via a worldwide distribution network.

As the world of medicine is becoming increasingly more complex, Arcomed’s Managing Director Thomas Moeckli understands many of the challenges it faces for the future: “Translating this complexity into a simple but powerful solution for customers and end users is of great importance to our company.” The brand has, therefore, had a new corporate design developed under the direction of the Konstanz-based art director Florian Rhiemeier and brand strategist Eduard Helmann (Sichtweise).

The typographic basis of the redesign is formed by the two fonts McQueen Grotesk Light and Medium, designed by Loris Olivier, Noheul Lee and Katja Schimmel. They ensure a light, unmistakable appearance both in printed material and on the website. The fonts support around 100 languages, which is very much in line with Arcomed’s international aspirations. Eduard Helmann describes the development of the new corporate design as follows: “When redesigning Arcomed AG, we first sharpened the brand and were then on the lookout for a typeface that had a technical feel, exuded precision and symbolized stability. With McQueen, we found exactly the typeface that expresses this.”

Tracés 3512, September 2021: This cover is designed to tell about how some architecture take another notion of the time. In French, temps – time – is a unit of a modular process used to build architectural elements.

Tracés 3516, January 2022: A typogram about how to protect heritage in architecture. Especially how to deal with sacral spaces such as churces and holy buildings.

Besides using Scope on their website, the creative engineering studio PCH Innovations also makes extensive use of the typeface for graphics and videos presented in their publications and social media.
