Not only did Christopher Burke write this excellent book on Tschichold, he designed it, prepared the illustrations, did the layout and typeset it in his own FF Celeste typefaces. 

That’s not all — the cover, title, and chapter heading pages were done with his digital version of JT’s drawings for a “quick and easy method of lettering”.

Pretty impressive!

The book Modern Typography was designed by Françoise Berserik, The Hague, and typeset by Teus de Jong. First edition 1992. Pictured is a (well-used) reprint of the second edition (2004). Here’s a review at Eye Magazine, including a picture of the first edition's cover.

Hyphen Press’s most recent book, edited by Christopher Burke, Eric Kindel, and Sue Walker. Beautifully set in Fred Smeijers’s newest typeface, Haultin, and Thomas Thiemich’s wonderful workhorse sans, Fakt (in both the regular and I think the semicondensed cuts). Oh, and twenty pages in, the book is fantastic. Worth every penny.
