The new Broadway production of Othello, directed by Kenny Leon, features Denzel Washington as Othello and Jake Gyllenhaal as Iago. Set in a modern military environment with minimalist staging, the play blends contemporary elements like fatigues and suits with Shakespeare’s original text. Washington portrays Othello as an older, seasoned leader, while Gyllenhaal makes his Shakespearean debut as the manipulative Iago. The merchandising T-shirts and hoodies featured the Ceraph typeface, designed by Emma Piercy.
