The identity is born from the three worlds that coexist within the brand: interiors, events, and flowers. From these, an organic visual language is developed around three illustrations, approached through a conceptual and slightly surreal lens.

Joanna Carolina’s world is rich in texture, color, and form. A universe that understands beauty through imperfection and seeks to transform spaces and experiences into something memorable and full of character. Far from anything overly neutral or predictable, Joanna Carolina’s identity proposes an aesthetic filled with personality, artistic sensitivity, and a subtle sense of lightness. Ulysses de Santi is a design dealer and curator renowned for his work in promoting mid-20th-century Brazilian modernist culture and design.

Inspired by the cultural richness of Brazilian modernist design, the new identity for Ulysses de Santi combines expressive typography and editorial-inspired layouts. Built around the contrast between geometric precision and warmth, the visual system explores rhythm, spacing, and tension to create a brand that feels both contemporary and deeply connected to Brazilian design heritage.

Editorial compositions, structured spacing and a precise grid carry the discipline of the visual identity into the digital experience. Motion creates continuity between states, supporting navigation without distraction. Projects are presented as narratives, allowing content to take centre stage while maintaining a strong, coherent identity.

The identity was conceived by Daniel Escudeiro, with digital design by Twoo and digital development by Jorge Toloza.

Malcontenti Studio was invited by Antonio’s Pizza to develop their brand identity—an exercise rooted in heritage and cultural intersection.

The concept pays homage to both Buenos Aires and Naples, drawing from the visual language of traditional pizzerias in each city: bold signage, vernacular typography, and a strong sense of locality shaped by generations.

The typographic system combines various styles from the variable Sharp Grotesk with Joe182, balancing warmth and familiarity with a distinct, expressive edge. Together, they evoke the character of hand-painted signs and historic storefront lettering, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

Social Sounds returns on bank holiday Good Friday at Belfast’s Ulster Sports Club, featuring Conor Schmtz, Reger, and Sophie. The poster features Animo by Heavyweight.

A neighborhood neo-brasserie and festive bar, Boucan reinterprets the traditional codes of the bistro through a contemporary lens. The branding is built on a dialogue between visual heritage and modernity, conceived as a graphic reinterpretation of classic bistro references, turning the venue into a full experience rather than a simple destination.

The logo is developed through multiple variations, set in Ohno Blazeface by OH no Type Co. and Enfilade by JTD Type, reflecting the many facets of the space. The visual identity embraces bold graphic decisions, driven by expressive, sometimes playful type choices, most notably Grilli Type’s GT Haptik Rotalic, Animo by Heavyweight, and Roca by Elena Genova, which bring rhythm, movement, and character to the overall visual system.

At Plantain, we transform lived histories into beautiful, bespoke books. With the Ferreira family volume, a chorus of voices, memories, and carefully kept artefacts finally found a home between covers.

When we started this project, we were invited to step into a living museum: rigorously researched family histories, earlier interviews, photographs softened by time, vinyl records, Granny’s garlic pork recipe, and artwork by masters such as Louison and Hinkson. Our brief was simple but exacting: make it coherent, honest, and beautiful – a book future generations would actually want to hold.

Over months, we conducted interviews, shaped a narrative, and curated more than 65,000 words and 437 images into a 356-page volume.

The design draws on the geometry of Portuguese azulejos, reimagined as grids and rhythmic layouts, with layered blue accents inspired by the Caribbean Sea. Warm creams and soft greys temper the palette, while a restrained typographic system lets the family’s voices sit easily beside photographs and ephemera.

Transition Radio is a contemporary, non-profit cultural project, operating from Fribourg, Switzerland. It is:

a space for creation, encounters, experimentation and reflection. It aims to promote the local and Swiss cultural scene, while keeping an open window to the international scene.

How it works: transition radio operates on a residency model, offering artists and creators the time and space they need to develop their projects. Residencies run for an entire season and can be individual or collaborative, covering all genres and mediums, from music and theater to poetry and sound art. The next call for residencies for the 2026-2027 season will be published on instagram in autumn 2025.

The new identity and website of the radio uses two vastly different typefaces together. The main one on the site, used in an animated, adaptive variable format is Animo, designed by Jan Horčík and Arnaud Chemin (released by Heavyweight in 2025).

The other one is Theran by Laura Csocsán (released by Outline Online in 2025), used for genre tags and for the moving sticky header, which shows what is currently playing as well as the date of past shows.

Grad je sinteza (“The city is a synthesis”) is a book about public spaces of Zagreb, containing interviews with architects, urbanistic planners, designers and general public. It was designed by đkć, printed by Kerschoffset, and published by Vizkultura.

Camille Brinch Jewellery, hailing from Denmark, effortlessly merges bold, sculptural forms with contemporary minimalism. Known for chunky, handcrafted designs that reimagine everyday pieces—like rings, chokers, and earrings—the brand transforms traditional jewelry into striking statements. Sterling silver and gold-plated finishes play against sleek silhouettes, offering an edgy yet refined aesthetic. Whether layered with casual or high-fashion ensembles, Brinch’s pieces evoke both raw power and subtle elegance, embodying the art of wearable contrast.

The visual identity is crafted by graphic designer and art director Daniel Julien based on the wide cut of Animo by Heavyweight. The majority of the glyphs have been distilled into a radical minimalism, stripping away excess to reveal the purest, most essential form of the wordmark. This streamlined approach reflects the same ethos seen in contemporary fashion—where simplicity and precision are the ultimate expressions of luxury and design.

The secondary typefaces are Lineto’s LL Supreme and Blaze Type’s Slussen.

TT Chocolates by TypeType and Cigars by Heavyweight are the typefaces used in the Cotlin brand identity.

Cotlin is a manufacturer of stylish, high-quality carpets made from premium fabrics. The company knows everything about producing these products: size, fiber, and technique. Their clients are market leaders such as Mango, Hyatt Regency Tower Hotel, and many others.

Monorail Music is a Glasgow based record shop focused on independent music. They work in close collaboration with graphic designer Musheto Fernandez for their visual communication.

They described themselves as follow:

Monorail Music opened in December 2002 after a sometimes epic three year long journey in search of a location and a way to make it all work. Glasgow then was a vibrant music city with something important missing, a great record shop, which we optimistically felt that we could provide. Operating from modest premises in a former Mexican restaurant, we’ve tried our best to provide the kind of record shop that we would like to visit on our travels. […]

Our first priority was obviously our shop, the 3D space, and making that work, but for a while it’s felt that we’ve got that down and that we’re ready to turn our attention to our website. At the moment it’s going to be impossible for us to represent online everything we’ve got going on in the shop. So we’re going to prioritise some of the new releases and reissues that we love, the music that we’re most closely connected with (groups, labels, projects) and other key Monorail items. In other words, independent, focused and friendly, like we’ve always tried to be.

Not since The Red Studio left Matisse’s atelier in 1911 have all the artworks represented in the painting been reunited. Matisse: The Red Studio was much about this once-in-a-lifetime reunion of artworks as it was about the painting’s storied history.

The gallery experience began in a long corridor with large typographic excerpts from Matisse’s letter to his patron articulating his intention behind his new painting. Upon entering the space, bold headings announced the exhibition’s layout on two large gallery walls—“The Story” and “The Studio”. In the former gallery, large chapter-like headers detailed specific moments in the painting’s history giving visitors an immediate sense of time and place with large wallpapers create an immersive effect.

Elsewhere is a multi-room music venue, nightclub, and arts space in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Our focus is underground and unbound music, presented with love. Since 2017, Elsewhere’s three stories of dancefloors and stages have been home to expansive sonic offerings for all New Yorkers to explore.

They use Serial A (Dum Dum Studio) with special glyphs for headlines. The layouts use TWK Everett (Weltkern) and sometimes Cigars (Heavyweight) for text and small info. They also use both versions of Hertz for the logo, with different textures to keep it dynamic.

Tactus Sacrorum (“The Touch of the Sacred”) is a book designed by Martin Utíkal about the new presbytery adjustment in the Saint Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert Cathedral in Prague. It was designed by ARN Studio, which recently won the German Design Award. Cigars Light by Heavyweight is used in caps on the titles, and Baskerville by Storm Type Foundry for the body copy. 20×30 cm, 2019.

Saint-Forgeot is a village in the region of Burgundy in eastern France. It is this place that Myriam Ziouche and Benjamin de Blic have chosen to cultivate vegetables and aromatic plants under the name Ferme Poliveau. On their four-hectare plot of land, the duo uses organic, open-field methods to grow pumpkins, cucumbers, tomatoes and more. In a second step, they bottle and can their soups, pickles and confitures de légumes themselves, in the pursuit of meeting the environmental challenges of our time.

Designer Julien Lelièvre provided a visual identity that is equally straightforward and striking. He found the sweet spot between minimalism and intimacy that is appropriate for the small artisan farm. The name Ferme Poliveau as well as the description “maraîchers / conserveurs” is set in capitals from PP Monument by Pangram Pangram. The typeface chosen for accompanying text – on the website and on promotional printed matter – is Media Sans by Production Type. The website, developed by Francis Josserand, uses black-and-white typography to frame the photography which provides a glimpse into the alternative farm life.

For packaging the products of the organic market gardening farm, Lelièvre added a more promotional typeface to the mix: the labels on the bottles with soups made from squash, zucchini, and cauliflower are set in Joe182, a thick marker script by Jan Horčík.

Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto is the Law School of the University of Porto. Cigars is used in all caps for the lettering on the building’s façade. The refurbishment project was carried out by Barata Arquitectos between 2018 and 2019. The typography was added by Non-verbal Club.

Bar Margaux is a late night bar and brasserie serving cocktails, wine and French comfort food until the early hours. Their coasters and business cards are set in Atlantic. For the menu, website, logo and advertising, design agency TCYK used various typefaces, amongst which are Tungsten and Romantica.

As part of the new branding of Elsewhere, made by EyeBodega and David Lee, this program booklet presents the lineup from December 2021 to February 2022, including more than 50 DJs, bands and musicians. It’s the first printed matter to feature Serial A. Cover artwork and illustration by Ramon Keimig.
