Very good use of Hypatia Sans for the titles of Anatomy of a Fall. The typeface deserves much more usage.

“Zen Pack” is the name of the new SS22 collection, marking the delivery of the Summer ’22 season of Goodbois.

For this collection, Goodbois created a follow-up concept of last year’s mental care line to show more awareness for our health, mentally as well as physically. This balance can only be found if both goes hand in hand. There is no yin without yang.

To maintain consistency across all lines, the designers have added back the popular Caxton as a small detail on the clothing. However, as the succinct and prominent motif typeface, Cristoforo was used, which resembles the esoteric and nostalgic aesthetics.

The symbols of the longsleeve resemble for enlightenment, (moon) energy, (sun) & harmony (flower). The artwork on the black shirt uses a photograph, which was taken by the photographer and designer Julian Schröpel back in 2017 via a visit to Joshua Tree, California.

Like the round artwork on the T-shirts, the “Universe of Good Spirits” is inspired by graphics with quotes of the division of our energy and aura. The text added underneath of this artwork was set in Pragmatica, a font which has been long in use for Goodbois over the past five years.

Golnar Kat Rahmani is a designer of Iranian origin living and working in Berlin. After graduating from the Weißensee Kunsthochschule, she founded Studio Kat Rahmani. In her studio work, Golnar specializes in typography, type design and visual identities, featuring a strong expertise in multilingual typography with a focus on Persian/Arabic typography. In 2019, she designed Ropa Sans Arabic together with Botio Nikoltchev for the local Lettersoup foundry.

Her Type & Politics project is an initiative aimed at “freeing Arabic/Persian Type from its ideological connotations.” Golnar offers workshops that introduces designers and other interested people to Arabic and Persian type. The Type & Politics website shows visual impressions from previous workshops, including many examples of Arabic/Persian lettering. The website texts themselves are in English only, and feature Hypatia Sans for headings. The typeface named after the Hellenistic Neoplatonist philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician is paired with Roboto for text, while the top menu is rendered in all-caps Futura PT. The Type & Politics logo appears to be custom drawn, using (Latin) unicase pixel letters that seem to reference square Kufic lettering, and a deviant ampersand that hints at the reversed writing direction used for Arabic text.

Vote.org uses technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy.

The typography of Vote.org’s recent campaign combines HWT Artz (2014), Erik Spiekermann’s contemporary interpretation of German display types from the 1920s, with Merriweather Bold (2010), an open-source font by Eben Sorkin. The website uses Clear Sans (2013), another open-source font developed by Dan Rhatigan and George Ryan. The nonpartisan, nonprofit organization has used quite a number of fonts in their communication, some of which are shown here.
