Meet the Searchers (1963) is the debut album by the Searchers, a rock band from Liverpool, England. Shown here is the cover of the North American release on Kapp Records from the following year, which is different both in regard to the cover and the included songs. It omits the band’s first single, “Sweets for My Sweet”. From Wikipedia:

In 1964 the British Invasion started and the Searchers were at the forefront with the Beatles and the Dave Clark Five. The group appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show with “Needles and Pins” and “Ain’t That Just Like Me”, both of which became hits in the US. Kapp Records got the rights and started to release the Searchers’ music. In the American market, albums were typically limited to 12 tracks and it was expected for albums to include the current hit single. Kapp Records released a compilation of the British market albums Meet the Searchers and Sugar and Spice (five songs from each) with additional songs from the single “Needles and Pins” / “Saturday Night Out”.

Binder-Style with its characteristic lowered t bar on the cover of “Roses Are Red (My Love)”, the first hit single by Bobby Vinton (b. 1935). From Wikipedia:

With Epic ready to drop him from its roster, Vinton found his first hit single literally sitting in a reject pile. […] Vinton had to do his own promotion for the song; he bought one thousand copies and hired a young woman to deliver a copy of the record and a dozen red roses to every local DJ. It spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also a hit on the Country and R&B charts. The success of the song pushed Epic to renew Vinton’s contract and change his status from bandleader to solo singer.

Otis Redding died in 1967, at 26 years of age. A series of 26 single records was released in France, containing (hit) songs of the soul giant. The first volume was released shortly after Redding’s untimely death [see comments], volume 26 was released in 1970.

Most of the covers follow the same design, with “The Otis Redding Story” set in punched Baby Teeth with a new S, the volume numbered in Cooper Black, song titles set in all caps Futura; and a back cover typeset in Antique Olive, Akzidenz-Grotesk and Chambord. The Stax logo is based on Binder-Style.

To Pelham’s surprise his cog-eyed droog went on to acquire iconic status and is now regarded as one of the best book covers of all time.
