The White Tiger is a 2021 drama film directed by Ramin Bahrani starring Adarsh Gourav in his first leading role, along with Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao. An adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s 2008 novel of the same name, the story is about Balram, who comes from a poor Indian village and uses his wit and cunning to escape from poverty.

Chikki was used for the Hindi teaser. Sweet and savory, Chikki is a crunchy Devanagari, Gurmukhi, and extended Latin type family available in six weights. While Chikki is primarily a display design, the letterforms and spacing have been clearly refined and optimized to work also at small sizes and to be clear for reading longer amounts of text.

The theme of the yearbook 2019 of the Doctoral School of Architecture at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME DLA) is glocal, which means as much as “reflecting or characterized by both local and global consideration”.

All essays and shorter articles of Glokális építészet (Glocal Architecture in English) are focusing on the topic of glocal architecture (i.e., intercultural architecture, local adaptations of international challenges). The book tries to catch this contradictory term by visual tools. Colors and typography aim to represent both mechanical and organic, both artificial and natural, at the same time, while the layout continues the arrangement of the previous issues, however slightly redesigned.

Edited by Levente Szabó, the publication was art directed and designed by Dóra Máthé, combining Pilowlava for titles with Vesper for text and Avenir for the table of contents, headings, marginal notes, running titles, page numbers. etc. The softcover book with section sewn binding was offset-printed in two colors (black, Pantone 584U blue) plus UV varnish, on Munken Lynx 100gsm and 300gsm by Elektroproduct Kft. Published by BME Doctoral School of Architecture in a limited edition of 300 copies, manually numbered on the last page.

The winning entry for a logo design competition to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany in 2015 merges the flags of the two countries with the ideas of diplomacy (bow tie) and continuity (Möbius strip).

The fonts in use are Vesper by Rob Keller and Rutz by Oded Ezer. Rutz a.k.a. Vesper Hebrew was created as a companion to Keller’s typeface design. It was picked for the logo because it was considered to be “one of the few quality Hebrew fonts created in recent decades, representing both contemporariness and innovation.”
