A project about the link between nature, memory and collective identity in the rural landscape of Fusignano, Italy, where monumental trees become living symbols of the history of the area. These giganti verdi (“green giants”) impose themselves as resilient presences, guardians of the environmental and cultural value of the place.

We took care of the entire visual communication of the project, from the creative concept, to the communication visual with the aim of translating into images and words the narrative power of this landscape.

We were thrilled to partner with The North Face in developing a campaign to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their iconic parka. This parka is not just a brilliant piece of technical gear for extreme conditions, it’s also a cultural symbol that has resonated with the masses. Our team crafted a comprehensive design system that included a dynamic motion package and an exclusive, limited-edition zine.

This system enabled us to integrate campaign photography and written interviews with some absolutely incredible people. Conrad Anker and Jimmy Chin recount epic stories of mountaineering, Quannah Chasinghorse shares what The North Face has meant to her in her advocacy and sustainability work, and Danie Sierra’s speaks of the parka’s resonance in urban culture. We had the immense pleasure of laying out their words alongside beautiful photography, from the heights of the Rocky Mountains to the streets of New York.

Druk Wide, Futura Passata, and Windsor made for perfect hero typefaces to carry this diverse cast of fascinating ambassadors – ranging from a bit nostalgic to very forward looking. They're supported by Neue Helvetica and Roboto Mono.

Visual identity for French Bre(a)d, a branding studio dedicated to crafting bespoke and unique visual identities, with a focus on food-related brands. The application of their new look includes business cards, custom website design and social media templates.

Futura Passata from AlfaType is the brand typeface, supported by Kalice by Margot Lévêque. Smaller texts use Moderat from TIGHTYPE.

Giangi is a hair salon in a northern Italian village. The shop is characterized by a disruptive eccentricity thanks to a mix of neo-baroque and animal-print furnishings. We opted for non-invasive graphic design in order to enhance the already defined identity of the store. For these reasons, we have also chosen not to design a logo, limiting ourselves to use a single typeface, Beaux from AlfaType (Italy), which refers to a refined Italian spirit and a bright red. Furthermore, to hark back to furnishings, we opted for Fedrigoni Armadillo Costellar Jade paper and a graphic sign that recalls the soul of the neo-baroque.

The book Meu mercadinho: teatro & comunidade presents the artistic-cultural experience of Grupo Atrás do Pano with the community of Santo Antônio do Mercadinho: “To arrive in a village like Santo Antônio do Mercadinho was a chance to perceive, in a single place, the concreteness of a longed-for dream: having art as a tool to enable the transformation of people and communities”.

The editorial project, commisioned and published by theater group Atrás do Pan, navigates throughout the text and the photographs using cropping, pasting and image coloring resources. The objective is to create a graphic-poetic visuality that gently and enthusiastically honors a community rich in unique characters, life stories and symbolic elements. For the cover and chapter openings, Futura Passata in large proportions was used for its resemblance to the vernacular typography. Mixing the two widths brings a playfulness and a unique human quality for the book. It is paired with Arnhem for the main text. This typeface can be classified as a very functional design suitable for setting long text and works really well with Futura Passata. For the printing, a combination of three spot colors was used.

In cammino verso il Natale (“On the way to Christmas”) is an itinerary to discover the history of salvation with a ‘philocaly’ gaze, unified with love, and therefore, with beauty.

The challenge was to articulate the four narrative paths proposed, differentiating themselves and at the same time nurturing each other.

The theological richness, the strength of sacred art, the reflections of spiritual authors and the brief dialogues between characters at the end of each chapter, walk in parallel and intersect, through styles, colors, fonts and compositions.

Breadwinner is a new technology company that creates tools for detail-oriented bakers—their first product is a smart sourdough jar that monitors your starter.

The friendly blackletter-inspired logo, set in Thomas-Schrift, mashes up the rich history of bread-making in Europe – especially Germany – with the DIY punk ethos of making your own bread from scratch. The supporting typographic system uses Bianco Sans and Bianco Serif. Its triangular serifs mirror the gothic elements of the logo. The contrasting, extra bold and geometric Dida adds a bit of play and drama to the rest of the system.

“Broken” is a single released by Directional Influence including an Original Mix and a Drone Mix. The artwork uses Apoc for the main title, accompanied by Bianco Serif and the supporting LL Circular. The imagery depicts the Chernobyl disaster, a callback to the sample used within the song. Released independently in 2020.

ODG is a new Italian web magazine dedicated to cinema culture:

In the world of cinema, the agenda [in Italian: ordine del giorno], abbreviated with ODG, is the document distributed daily to the crew to make everyone aware of the work plans for the next day. ODG magazine wants to understand cinema with the help of those who make it, with an eclectic and passionate editorial proposal.

Art direction by Simone Ellero and Leonardo De Marchi. The typography pairs Futura Passata by Alfatypefonts and Gramatika by Tokotype.

The passing of London Art Fair’s 30th anniversary provided the perfect opportunity to challenge the fair’s existing identity, and make sure it remains relevant and competitive in a field packed with alternatives. A project which looked closely at the fair’s existing and future markets, led to a new brand that champions the creativity, content and the artists.

The intention of the rebrand was to reduce the emphasis on a logo, and instead create a device that functioned quietly and confidently as a plinth for other content, helping to really position the fair as a platform for galleries and artists. Because of this, the rebrand introduces a structure of two parts.

On one layer the new type treatment and plinth logo, providing a consistent framework and visual anchor. On the second, seasonal, campaign based content which can flex and change every year. This space for campaign content acts as a variable layer, one which can take on multiple personalities.

The logotype uses Bianco Serif designed by AlfaType. The main brand font used is Agipo, an elementary sans serif font designed by RP Digital Foundry.

Visual identity for Sport-Étude, a magazine about athletes. Every issue of Sport-Étude will present the portrait of one athlete. The magazine, with 4,000 copies printed, will be distributed for free. Co-founded by Julien Soulier & David Bellion. Commissioned by Première Heure Production & Supervision Office. Size: 24.5 × 32.5 cm, 20 pages.

Founded in 1981, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe is a collective of over 60 members based in every corner of the continent. When together on stage there is an implicit chemistry and alchemy between one another, a sense of flow and understanding unlike any other orchestra.

I was invited to design Pirandello em Cinco Atos, a special edition published in the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Luigi Pirandello's birth.

Published by Carambaia, this volume contains five one-act plays. Each play is illustrated with a photograph of an object that act as an icon to visually represent the themes present in each text.

The design of the book is inspired by publications and posters from the beginning of the 20th century in Italy, the period when the five plays were written and/or first enacted.

I picked Futura Passata for its resemblance to the vernacular typography found in signage around Italy. With its rougher woodcut lines and the two widths combination, the typeface has a nice underlying human quality to it. Futura Passata also worked nicely for the big stacked type chapter openers since I could toggle between condensed and expanded width for each character.

For the body copy I’m using Lyon, which works really well counterbalancing not only the raggedy/irregular-looking nature of theater plays’ text blocks but also pairs well with the overly varied Futura Passata. It also brings a more contemporary flavor to the project.

Bucharest based printing and design atelier Fabrik is specialized on different printing techniques including offset, digital print, and letterpress. The single page website shows a great composition of their work combined with headings in Futura Passata and continuous text in Satyr.
