The club noted many factors for this decision, one being that the Berlin side are the only club in the Bundesliga without a dedicated football stadium. Sign Week Vienna is a festival celebrating Vienna’s rich heritage of urban type. It features different lettering walks, sign painting workshops, films, exhibitions and even an award for Vienna’s most beautiful shop front.

The website was designed by Tom Koch, who also organises the event together with Achim Gauger. The font in use is Typewalk 1915 by German type designer Sven Fuchs. Released in 2015 by Typocalypse type foundry this “vintage grotesk” is an homage to European sign painting and lettering traditions of the early 20th century.
