Don’t Tap the Glass is the ninth studio album by Tyler, the Creator, released on July 21st of 2025. Promoted only days prior to its release, the album sees Tyler embrace all out dance music with glittery synths, hard hitting beats and infectious tunes. I was admittedly slightly worried about the album music-wise but it was still very worth it.

Aesthetically, this album is the complete inverse of his previous album, Chromakopia. Embracing an 1980s-inspired pop and disco aesthetic, Don't Tap The Glass uses a modified version of Bastion set entirely in uppercase as its only branding typeface. It is used for the logo of the album and in all promotional material.

Lyric sheet for “Tell Me What It Is”, the last track in the album. The words in the lyrics have an inconsistent line height and some letters are tilted at an angle. Something I also noticed is that the letter S is bolder than other letters. Utterly confounding.

The taglines for the album, first heard in the opening track. Just like the logo, some letters visually are subtly different from others.

Almost all of the music videos from Don't Tap The Glass end with the logo flashing for a few seconds.

Flyer for a punk/hardcore show with WüT, Batterrrii, and Corps Vidés which took place on the 25th of March in Toulouse, at Atelier des Cheminots.

Every year the music blog New Commute asks graphic designers from all over the world to make some artwork depicting their top five albums released in the passing year. For this project, I scanned in some of my personal matchbook collection to rework my favorite albums into fake, long forgotten matchbooks. Using a wide array of my personal favorite typefaces from across eras I was able to put together this depiction of my favorite albums.

The Mummy (also known as The Mummy: The Animated Series) is an American animated series produced by Universal Cartoon Studios based on the 1999 film of the same name.

The series logo was set in Trajan Bold, while episode titles, on-screen captions and credits were set in Telluria.

Cibo Matto (Italian for “crazy food”) was a band formed and fronted by Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda, two Japanese expatriates living in New York City. Other members have included Yuko Araki, Timo Ellis, Duma Love, and, most notably, Sean Lennon.

Viva! La Woman, the band’s first full-length album, showcases their singular fusion of disparate genres and influences. Every song on the album is in some way related to food or drink, such as the tracks “Know Your Chicken” and “Sugar Water.”

The band’s name appears to be a roughly hand-drawn recreation of Graphique with a slightly deeper shadow. The album’s title is in all caps Rossetti, a wonky digitization of Harrington.

Songs for the Deaf is the third studio album by the American rock band Queens of the Stone Age, released on August 27, 2002, by Interscope Records. It features guest musicians including Dave Grohl on drums, and was the last Queens of the Stone Age album to feature Nick Oliveri on bass. Songs for the Deaf is a loose concept album, taking the listener on a drive through the California desert from Los Angeles to Joshua Tree, tuning into radio stations from towns along the way such as Banning and Chino Hills.

The album cover is set in Abaddon, while the tracklisting and inner liner notes are set in Caxton.

Digestive

Maple is a Canadian jewelry company specialized in recycled sterling silver, either as such or plated with 14k gold. A distinctive trait of this brand is their recurring use of type as an ornament through the years. The fonts are either embossed (and oxidized) or debossed in the surface of the jewelry, or can even serve as a full 3D object for the base of some pieces, like the M or Freak rings and bracelet. Note that the Freak ring is not a simple extrudation of Cheee but a properly sculpted inflation of the letter shapes.

Among the fonts they used, we can name a few occurrences of Digestive by Jérémy Landes, Cheee by James Edmondson (both released through OH no Type Co.), Victor Moscoso by Keith Bates, Hendrix by David Nalle, Blackmoor by David Quay, Collegiate FLF by Casady & Greene, and at least two more unidentified ones.

Butterfly House is the sixth studio album by English rock band The Coral. It was released by Deltasonic on the 12th of July 2010.

The cover was designed by Mike Snowdown. Summerisle is used for the title and song names on the album art. The typeface has been used on other products derived from the album such as box sets, posters, and singles.

Title design for Troye Sivan’s live performace of his EP In A Dream by Bradley Pinkerton. Main titles use all-caps Aneirin and following titles use Eurocine Wide Black.

Logo, packaging and online game for Novelmore, a fantasy/mediaval/knights-inspired branch of Playmobil. The Novelmore logo uses Mephisto, based on Berthold’s Alexandra. Additional information uses American Captain.

This photozine was an academic project for a class of photography applied to design, at ESAD Matosinhos. We had to create a narrative using photography, and then lay it out in a coherent format. The story I chose to tell was the excerpt of Simon Reynolds’ Retromania that you can read on the green page.

The narrative parts from the identification of massive entertainment with chewing gum; something you consume repetitively and which loses its flavor soon. From there came out the story of a girl chewing bubblegum that goes through different emotional stages.

I chose Aneirin for the resemblance of its serifs to bubble gum, and then Avara to antagonise the round shapes of the bubbles. Every typographic element is stretched or justified in order to convey the idea of padding content.

Emit is a collection of luxury Swiss made watches that pays homage to the timeless design and craft of a past era with the reliability and precision of modern manufacturing. The name EMIT is ‘TIME’ spelt backwards, which plays on the idea of looking back in order to move forward.

This project took us from conception to completion, naming to narrative and from identity to reality. The customised logo (based on Tautz) mixes the traditional typographical details with modern sharp serifs. The unique logo has a larger T which sits bigger than the other characters, as a subtle nod to its flipped name. The photoshoot was traditionally styled and in contrast shot by contemporary fashion photographer Sarah Piantadosi.

The watch faces use a mix of ITC Blair and Vidilex. Print and packaging use Schneidler and LL Circular.

Graphic design for a small publication that is an ode to ordinary objects. Containing 55 word stories that are the results of a flash fiction workshop run at Onomatopee by Lara Chapman and Edoardo Tedone of the Master Department Design Curating and Writing at Design Academy Eindhoven. The booklet was written, designed and risoprinted during the Super Book Saturday, 30 March 2019 at Onomatopee, Eindhoven.

Album cover for the heavy rock band, HFM. It features the model (and blogger) Roswell Ivory as the “Scarlet Woman” — the title of one of the group’s songs. The album artwork concept was inspired by Black Sabbath’s debut album sleeve and was shot at 6.45 am on a cold and frosty morning, awaiting the sunrise, at Dunham Massey in front of an 18th century deer sanctuary building.
