Best known for finishing as a runner-up in the The Apprentice (2006, UK edition), Ruth Badger has spent the almost two decades since quietly building one of the most effective and revered business consultancies in the country. To coincide with a new strategic direction for the business and the expansion of the senior leadership team to four equal partners, a new, refined brand was created, sporting an abbreviated name, RBC, that placed more emphasis on the business as a whole and spread the spotlight to beyond just Ruth.

The primary brand typeface is Bueno, used in all caps from the Semi Bold. It’s supported by Public Sans and Victor Serif Italic.

This slim volume launches the H83 Documenta series, a publishing project by Habitat Ottantatré in collaboration with Lazy Dog Press. The series transforms temporary exhibitions into lasting editorial formats. This particular volume accompanies the exhibition Devenīre by Federico Gori, held from October 5 to December 7, 2024, and explores themes of permanence and impermanence in nature. The exhibition featured over 200 square meters of visual storytelling, highlighting Gori’s reflections on resilience, rituals, and transformations in the natural world, drawing on a decade of artistic research.

The booklet serves as both a record of the exhibition and a standalone editorial piece, blending essay writing, journalism, catalog, and artist book formats. Each of the 130 copies is unique, with Federico Gori personally working on each cover, making the publication not just a reading experience but also a collectible art object.

The primary typeface, Thunder by Rajesh Rajput, is thunderously bold and cheerful. It is quietly supported by Manrope which is used in body text and smaller applications.

The logo is based on Thunder with a custom box-like O.

Proxy is a podcast from Yowei Shaw, formally the co-host of NPR’s Invisibilia. Neither advice show nor therapy, Proxy offers something different: a space for people to confront, commiserate and even find the comedy in their situation through frank conversations.

With this in mind, Good Tape Studio set out to design podcast branding that communicated Shaw’s surrealist approach as an “emotional investigative journalist” with a nod towards René Magritte’s famous self-portrait, Son of Man. This lead us on a search for a typeface that could provide some personality to our tile as well as balance nicely with a prominent green Apple. Eventually, we landed on Thunder by Rajesh Rajput.

The strong contrast between strokes in Thunder added a playful and solid feel to your wordmark, with enough personality to be recognizable when separated from the context of the full tile. To pair with the bold font choice for the wordmark, we needed a solid geometric sans and Rajput’s Nohemi was the perfect compliment.

Wisdom House (집현전) is a startup accelerator that provides funding, mentoring, and strategic advice to emerging companies.

The brand identity design of Wisdom House adopts and modernizes the architectural style of the Joseon Dynasty’s Jiphyeonjeon (집현전). It notably incorporates Jiphyeonjeon’s elegant roof lines, robust pillar structures, and clearly defined stair forms as motifs, effectively integrating traditional elements into a contemporary business environment.

To depict the pillars of Wisdom House, the bold and condensed Dragon was utilized. For both Korean and English texts, the clean and modern SUIT was employed. The Chinese characters at the top were crafted through custom lettering.

MadeByShape's rebranding for Sketch Studios leverages the distinct characteristics of two typefaces, Aeonik and Humane, to create a sleek, modern identity that resonates with creative industry professionals.

Font choices: Aeonik, known for its clean, geometric lines and versatility across various applications, brings a contemporary sharpness to the Sketch Studios brand. Its clarity and modernity make it an excellent choice for conveying professionalism and forward-thinking aesthetics.

Humane, on the other hand, adds a touch of warmth and approachability with its more rounded and humanist features. This typeface complements Aeonik by softening the overall appearance, making the brand more accessible and inviting to its audience.

This thoughtful typographic strategy not only defines the visual landscape of the brand but also supports its positioning as a leader in the creative sector. The use of these two contrasting yet harmonious fonts reflects the dynamic and innovative spirit of Sketch Studios.

Businesses that managed to grow during the pandemic were few and far between, but Prism was one of them. In-person events transitioned into videos, short films, and animations that could be shared extensively, enabling Prism to adapt, diversify its offerings, and ultimately thrive during a challenging period. From pencil to pixel and concept to creation, Prism can do the lot and riding the crest of a wave made for the best time to refocus its visual identity.

Mugacu Fest is a music, gastronomy and culture festival that takes place annually in the San Pedro ruins, Viana (Spain). #SuenaMugacu was the alternative to Mugacu fest due to the impossibility of celebrating it due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The typographic choice consists of two fonts that complement each other optimally. Darker Grotesque is a contemporary grotesque designed by Gabriel Lam and Vietanh Nguyen, inspired by the post-modern and brutalism typographic trends, while Morganite is a retro-looking condensed sans serif font family, designed by Rajesh Rajput.

Mugacu is a festival of music, gastronomy, and culture that is celebrated in the ruins of a church in the beautiful town of Viana in the province Navarra, Spain. They needed a brochure to publicize the festival at BIME (International Music Conference & Festival in Bilbao).

For the typography, I paired the condensed Morganite (Rajesh Rajput, 2018) with Darker Grotesque (Gabriel Lam & Vietanh Nguyen, 2019). Some of the large capitals were modified, alluding to the theme of ruins. The entire brochure is printed with light ink on black paper.
