FIBER FONTS A–Z is a personal project that focuses on intentionality, materiality, and typography. It was unveiled during the popular Instagram challenge, 36 Days of Type (2024).

The project illustrates the alphabet through 26 handmade punch needle rugs – each adhering to the rule that its chosen adjective, typeface, and yarn color all start with the letter depicted on it. To highlight the gender imbalance within typography, I challenged myself to select typefaces purposefully and to seek out those designed by female typographers. In total, 16 female designers and 16 male designers created the 26 typefaces featured in this alphabet.

Mezzo offers authentic Italian sandwiches, or panini. Words from Artefato Design Studio:

Mezzo was born at a full table, overflowing with flavor, affection and laughter. The traditional Italian panino has a contemporary touch for an explosion of unforgettable flavors.

We thought about all the details with great care and affection, selecting special ingredients for the perfect pairing and a true affective cooking experience.

The main typefaces are Holise and Hartone, with Bogam used for the logo.

Printed in 4,500 copies and distributed in Geneva’s La Jonction quarter, this gazette allowed the people to participate, to inform themselves, to reflect and to dream about the future Parc of the Pointe de la Jonction, a place that was left vacant by the departure of the TPG buses at the end of 2020.

The role of this gazette was to announce the activities that took place on the site during the summer of 2021. It became one of the tools for consultation for the creation of this new space in collaboration with the citizens, the Forum Pointe de la Jonction and the associations and the City of Geneva.

The masthead of la gazette du parc is set in Forgotten Shapes’ Schmale Egyptienne No. 12 FSL, while for the body text Production Type’s Proto Slab is used. Spicing up this typographic palette are colorful illustrations by Popy Matigot and titling fonts that change with each of the four issues that have been published. These include Clementhorpe Italic (no. 1), Bagerich (no. 2), CirrusCumulus (no. 3), and Garaje 1803 (no. 4).

Sustainable potting mix producer Rosy Soil came to us with a clear mission: to create a better for plants and better for planet potting soil that is free of peat and synthetics. We partnered with the brand team to develop a brand strategy that simplifies a complicated array of messages, a brand name that denotes a positive outlook, and a visual identity and packaging system that brings the positioning to life.

Millik is used for the wordmark. The typography is set in a mix of Maison Neue and Adieu.

Handy Handbook of Hands is about the finger binary systems. The first part of this book shows how to count and display binary numbers on the fingers. In the second part, a binary finger alphabet is developed that enables the communication of words with fingers.

Children learn to count with their fingers at an early age. The Latin word for fingers or toes “digitus” is the root of the English word digit. A normal person has, if nothing unforeseen happens, five digits on each hand. This limits the counting of the fingers to ten. By using binary numbers with the fingers of one or both hands, it is possible to count and display all numbers from 0 to 1023.

Counting in binary is one thing, but fingers can switch from “counting mode” to “text mode”. The binary finger alphabet technique allows communicating words and even entire sentences with the fingers. It is similar to Morse code and gives each letter of the alphabet a specific finger constellation. It is structured from simple finger constellations for the most commonly used letters of the English alphabet to more difficult constellations for rare letters.

Bagerich’s Bogam typeface was used for the design of the book, which worked in harmony with the illustrations. I used Nimbus Sans for the body text.

Bash designs and renovates armchairs intended for theaters, cinemas, performance halls, etc. Bash’s new identity is built around a photographic campaign featuring various emblematic models, in places damaged by time. The visual identity is characterised by archetypal bright red color in reference to traditional theater seats. The logotype and typographic system play with arches and italics, reminiscent of the armchair’s shapes.

Agne by Bagerich is used as display typeface for Ryeowook’s latest mini album. It’s paired with Termina by Fort Foundry on the cover. The booklet additionally uses an unidentified Korean typeface and a Latin serif, which are possibly from the same font.

Voca by Bagerich is the display typeface used for the latest release by singer, rapper, and songwriter Amber Liu.

Global pop star Amber Liu has released the final EP of her trilogy, Z!, on all digital streaming platforms via Empire. Over the past few months, Liu has already released three hit singles from this new body of work as a little tease for what’s to come from one of her most playful but serious albums to date. The music video for her title song of the album, “Easier,” features the international phenomenon Jackson Wang, and will be released on February 28.

The EP Z! is the last in the recent series that began with X in 2019 and y? in early 2021. While X was about crossing over to something new, y? dove into Amber’s internal struggles. Finally, marks a perfect ending to the trilogy; a declaration and commitment to herself that she’ll always be “Amber” even though she is just finally getting to know herself.

For the second supper club hosted at 83 Dalston Lane we decided to keep the illustrative style and bright solid backgrounds but at the same time working with bolder typefaces.

Here Bogam (Bagerich Type Foundry) is used on the main headline and copy is set in Fabio Funk from the Fabio XM family.

The illustration depicts chef Fabrizio Ricotta himself – hence the specs and the curl ;) – serving a hot pasta dish at the event. The palette used is consistent with Fabrizio’s signature colours (tangerine and beige) and a couple new additions: green (from the last event’s poster) and mustard to keep the foodie vibe.

Created by the Indonesia-based type foundry and design studio Bagerich, Shirens is a font inspired by Emo/metal/hardcore music scene and the hype street wear/apparel.

Shirens has been selected as official typeface for promotion and branding of Post Human: Survival Horror, the new album by British band Bring Me The Horizon.
