Peter Dom

Commercial lettering artist, cartoonist, design instructor, 1897–1962. Born in Tehran as Peter Domboorajian. Came to the United States in 1910. Worked as commercial lettering artist in Chicago and moved to New York City in 1932. Both Peter Dom and his brother Sam created numerous alphabets for Photo-Lettering, Inc. Various sources incorrectly give his surname as Dombrezian. [Jay]
