In December of 2015, Twitter users noticed something was off with their Reese’s Trees. They looked like turds. Blogs, news sites and even TV shows quickly picked up the story, officially making it a controversy. Our response? Spin the conversation by introducing a new injustice: tree shaming.

The font family in use is Jeremy Tankard’s Shire Types. Most cards in the video are set in the Cheshire style, but the hashtag itself combines several styles including the round minuscule forms of Worcestershire with the slab serif caps from Staffordshire and others (plus modifications like serrate cut-out counters and edges).

When it comes to Thatcher, the comrades of Philosophy Football take no stock in piety:

This one is for the miners, the steelworkers, the printers, the firefighters, the millions unemployed, the injustices the Hillsborough familes were forced to endure, the Poll Tax protesters, those who lost their lives on HMS Sheffield, and the Belgrano, for what? Their T-shirt comes “in funereal black, in remembrance of all we lost 1979–1990”. The typeface is Shire Cheshire by Jeremy Tankard, who comments: “I guess those in the US could celebrate Buddha’s Birthday (Hana-Matsuri)”.

The Phoenix Comic by Matt Baxter of Baxter and Bailey is “a 32 page full colour comic full of 100% original stories, and incredible competitions”, and supposedly “the best way to get kids reading” — thephoenixcomic.co.uk

The buoyant bold typeface is Derbyshire, the most restrained member of Jeremy Tankard’s Shire Types series. An interspersed ‘X’ from the animated Warwickshire has been used to round off the logo. The website was built by Mesh London and uses two weights of ITC Avant Garde Gothic.
