    <title>Französische Grotesk in use</title>
    <link>https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/10659/franzoesische-grotesk</link>
<description>Französische Grotesk in use. “Reworking of Breite halbfette Grotesk by Schelter &amp;amp; Giesecke, Leipzig (1890), matrices aquired by Haas ca. 1900 and initially named Breite fette Grotesk. They changed the g to the single storey form, supposedly more popular in German speaking countries by that time.” [Kupferschmid] Later shown by Haas as Altgrotesk. [c.1950 Haas specimen]

Christian Schwartz’s revival FF Bau (2002) features both forms of ‘g’. F Grotesk (2007–11) by Radim Peško is another revival.</description>
