DeHache is a yearly design event held in Querétaro, Mexico, organized by the design collective Tipos Libres. Every year, the festival brings together designers and creatives for talks, workshops, and activities focused on graphic design and visual culture.

In the 2023 edition, held in April of that year, the keynote speaker was Brazilian lettering artist Cyla Costa and the festival’s swag bag featured a sketchbook with her font Juma on both the front and back covers. This is, in all likelihood, the first public use of the font, which had just been released by Naipe Foundry in December 2022.

César Rodriguez, one of the people behind DeHache, gifted Naipe with a copy of the notebook in 2025, which is how we made the accompanying photographs by Daniel Begué.

The accompanying typeface appears to be Pluto Sans.

Irene Themann designed the visual identity for the Jazzwoche (“Jazz Week”), which is organized annually by the Jazz Musiker Initiative Hannover e.V.

Coupé (Nouvelle Noire) is used for titles. The stencil face by Philippe Apeloig is paired with Hannes von Döhren’s Pluto Sans (HvD Fonts) for text. Inspired by Stefan Sagmeister's project Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far and the many professional and personal experiences and turmoil in the first year since my graduation from the Zagreb School of Design I created a series of minimalist typographic posters illustrating the simple maxims and thoughts I had come to realise.

My first personal exhibition, featuring the posters, was opened on the 24th of January at the Boonika Gallery in Zagreb. The following are the posters and exhibition visuals and images from the making-of.

Posted as part of a little survey about websites for conferences on typography and graphic design – how do these specialist events present themselves typographically, in 2013?

The Kerning website is strongly branded in red and black and a contrasty pair of fresh typefaces: the wide Pluto Sans (sometimes a little light) and the seriffed Adelle (sometimes quite heavy). The layout is responsive. The feedback thingy on the bottom with its gradient speech bubble quickly gets annoying and almost ruins the experience.
