Issued by Stempel in 1924, after they had acquired original 18th century matrices with the W. Drugulin takeover in 1919. Drugulin in turn had acquired them from a French foundry and cast type from it as Französische Gotisch. [Bauer/Reichardt] [Bertheau 1995]
