Contoured and ornamented bold caps/small caps with flare serifs. Partly based on Ornamented No. 1530 (Bruce, 1872), omitting the lowercase, with various deviations in the details. Probably made at Lettergraphics. Eagle is shown in Solid and Outline styles, in caps with less decorated small caps. [Lettergraphics 1968–1975] The open face is also known as Eagle Ornate [Typeshop c.1977] (used for sample).
Copied by Castcraft as Elmo and Elmo Solid. [Castcraft 1978] Shown under these names and with full glyph sets in Dan X. Solo’s 100 Ornamental Alphabets (Dover, 1995).
