Designed by Joseph W. Phinney and issued by Dickinson in 1882 [Reichardt 2011]. Patented by Phemister, Pierce, Cumming on Oct. 3, 1882 [Saxe 2015]. Combines ornamented caps with plain small caps. Alternates for ‘AEHKMNUWam’.

Adopted for phototypesetting by Photo-Lettering (as Astethic, before 1971) and Facsimile Fonts (shown in Berthold’s E1 catalog, 1974). Also shown in catalogs by Typeshop (ca. late 1970s, used for sample), VGC (1990) and Solotype (1992).
