Hodinkee magazine Volume 12 is the epitome of in-depth storytelling, boasting award-winning photography and feature content spanning travel, auto, fashion, and, of course, watches.

Designed by Varyer, this issue delves into the profound connections watches foster across generations and the allure of adventure.

Featuring Romie Regular typeface by Margot Lévêque, it offers a curated journey through northern Italy’s vintage watch scene, the iconic Le Mans 24-hour race, and whimsical takes on watch advertisements, complemented by personal essays and interviews. “Hodinkee Vol. 12” is set in LL Brown by Aurèle Sack. The complementary sans, monospaced sans, and serif are yet unidentified [edit: identified by Akira as Söhne, Söhne Mono, and Teodor, see comments].

Studio Size created a brand identity for Metalabs3, a blockchain and Web3 development company. ML3’s identity revolves around the idea of a “digital renaissance”. The real Renaissance was a period from the 14th to 17th century that brought innovation by combining science and art. Web3 represents a “digital renaissance”, a rebirth of web technology impacting numerous areas, particularly art. To illustrate the concept of “digital renaissance”, we merged Greek and Roman culture from the old Renaissance world with the new digital age of the metaverse. The logo is built from ancient pillars, forming the roman number three and symbolizing the letter M. By applying pixel graphics, gradients, glitches, and blur effects, we created an exciting contrast with the archaic visual elements.

The design system is based on the golden ratio, specific to renaissance art. The contrast of serif and sans serif typefaces represents a fusion of the old and new world. Motion design reinterprets archaic visuals in a digital context. With 3D models, the Renaissance sculptures are placed in a metaverse-like environment.

Ar/Ge Kunst is a research and production space for the arts in Bolzano.

The name Ar/Ge Kunst is an abbreviation of the German word Arbeitsgemeinschaft (working group), which was chosen to promote the idea of collective work, and also has the meaning to unsettle (coming from the German word arge).

The Kunstverein aims to reinforce the collective aspect inherent in the name Ar/Ge Kunst as a research and production space for the arts, in which every new production forges a new working group of practitioners from different walks of life, to think through impending social, legal and artistic questions.

The entire identity is based on a very strict grid system: three rows, three languages, three headings, three columns across every media and every format.
