Omar Mobarek designed a vibrant visual identity for fitness influencer Malak El Ayouty’s latest training programme, Fit Like Malak. Malak develops a suitable training course for every body type she works with. To capture this aspect, the Cairo-based graphic designer approached the project by drawing a variety of figurines with a broad range of bodies in motion. The main figurine, which functions as the icon of Fit Like Malak, is shown in the fitness influencer’s favourite stance of the squat, shaping the first letter of her name (M).

The visual identity uses Omar’s illustrations in vibrant colours combined with the typefaces Farmacia and Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber, which are playfully mixed and even stretched or condensed to match the identity’s concept. Adieu by Good Type Foundry is used for further text.

Mel Comunicació designed the visual identity for La Claqueta, a food truck serving delicious sliders in Valencia. The design is built around the “claqueta” (Spanish for clapperboard ?), which is used for synchronizing sound and picture on film sets and has become a widely recognized symbol for cinema.

At the centre of this playful identity is the typeface Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber, which features a unique C that visually resembles a clapperboard. This choice not only reinforces the cinematic theme but also cleverly ties the name “La Claqueta” to its cultural significance.

In addition to Kiosk, the identity uses Fallbreeze Script by Maulana Creative to create a dynamic yet cohesive visual language and Hueber by Tim Arnold across different elements of the food truck’s communication, such as their menus and further copy.

Whilst working at FARM, Rebekah Lee created the visual identity for HotBuns, a South-east Asian and Chinese street food takeout located at the Clarke Quay in Singapore. Inspired by the various kinds of colourful street stalls in Asia, a vibrant colour palette was defined and paired up with expressive typefaces.

The identity’s primary typeface is Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber which was also used in a slightly adapted version. The shape of Kiosk’s B also inspired the shelving system used for the takeout’s interior design. Supporting typefaces are Abordage by Eugénie Bidaut for copy text and Noto Sans to cover the Traditional Chinese script.

Tetto is a restaurant and bar at the Bullitt Hotel in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is self-described as “a bright, modern, design-led rooftop restaurant and bar showcasing fresh local seafood with an Italian accent alongside sourdough pizza and imaginative aperitivo inspired cocktails”.

The design was created by Rachel Cunning who mentions vintage Italian travel and motorsport posters as the source of inspiration for her identity design. The logo was created with Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber, while Plaak by 205TF and Bull-5 Mono by David Einwaller were used for copy text. On the fourth image, the bottom line of a menu is set in a yet unidentiefied serif.

Ibán Ramón designed the communication campaign for Nou d’Octubre 2022 with a poster as the centrepiece. This annual celebration in the Valencian Community commemorates the conquest of the city of Balansiya by the troops of King Jaume I of Aragon and the creation of the Kingdom of Valencia in 1238.

The key visual shows an interpretation of the dragon crest, which is the central iconographic element to represent the monarchs of the Crown of Aragon. It is combined with Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber which, as the website of Ibán Ramón explains:

The typography evokes the modernity of the Valencian poster period in the first half of the 20th century, thus establishing a graphic journey from the Middle Ages to the present. 

Bureau BoschBerg designed the identity of the 2022 edition of Werchter Boutique, a pop music festival in Belgium. For their design, they used Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber and Hoss Round by PSTL. The lighter weights of the latter is used for information.

Ibán Ramón Rodríguez (Instagram) designed the visual identity for an exhibition, including a book, about Josep Renau in Valencia (Spain) entitled Josep Renau i el temps de les imatges, or Josep Renau and the time of images in English. For this, he used Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber as the main title typeface and Suisse Int'l by Swiss Typefaces with a dark yet warm colour palette.

Josep Renau and the time of images is an exhibition of 70 posters by Josep Renau at the Sala de Respect of the Palacio de los Scala de València that includes some of his most relevant pieces, as well as more than thirty illustrations, book covers, hand guides and diverse graphic documentation. Commercial, political, cinematographic posters, book covers and many other pieces make up this sample of one of the greatest references of Valencian art of the 20th century. His posters, which managed to bring art to the street and convert, thanks to their strong visual impact, his causes into popular ones, can be seen in this exhibition where his line and talent served very different causes.

Vinvino is a bar and shop in Bern, Switzerland serving and selling a carefully selected range of European wines.

In 2021, Vinvino got a new visual identity designed by the Swiss creative agency INTR. The centrepiece of the new identity is the bold and heavy wordmark using Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber in bright red.

All other graphics are purposefully designed in a rather reduced and matter-of-fact fashion. Together with an outlined shape of a wine bottle and simple line elements, Neue Haas Grotesk is used to design different applications on- and offline.

Stush is a Jamaican patty company founded by Opal Rowe in Toronto, Canada. For the creation of the Stush logo, design agency Mosaic used the typeface Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber. The design studio describes the core ideas behind the branding as follows On Behance:

In Jamaica, the word stush is slang for 'proper'. So when our client came to us asking for help to reinvent her brand, we wanted to ensure that we stayed clear of the visual clichés and tropes normally associated with the country and the culture. Instead, we were inspired by the colours and visual language of vintage Jamaican Dance Hall signs and typography. With that, combined with a whimsical copy and illustration style, we helped our client create an emotive brand that can't be ignored on shelf and on social.

Kiosk is paired with two (yet to be identified) sans serifs: one typeface is used in both proportional and monospaced styles for smaller sizes, the other is a wide sans serif used in all caps in logo lockups. [It’s Plaak, see comments.]

Birra Saison is one of the typefaces featured in issue no. 60 of BELLA triste, a magazine for young literature published in Hildesheim, Germany.

Saison was designed by Viktoriya Grabowska as the third installment of Darden Studio’s Birra flight. It was brought into action for the headings to some of the included stories: for Berfin Orman’s “Hanans Geschichte”, the fluffy cursive is set tightly spaced, making it look almost like a connected script. It’s contrasted with the massive Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber. And for Jona Spreter’s short story “Stau”, designers Elfi Handina Murandu and Vivien Sorrentino cleverly staged Saison in overlapping caps – the German title translates to “traffic jam”. Each time, they added a contour to Saison’s airy strokes, giving the words a tad more presence on the page. Or, in the words of Viktoriya Grabowska: “Turns out an outline font can still be outlined!”

BELLA triste’s text typeface is ABC Monument Grotesk (Dinamo). Other display typefaces enlisted for the anniversary issue are Hofmann (Nguyen Gobber) and Tiny (Velvetyne).

Mickael Dard created the poster design for the 16th edition of Augenblick, a French festival of German-spoken movies. The typefaces he used are Kiosk and Neue Haas Grotesk 65 medium. While all the infos were set with Neue Haas Grotesk in a bright orange, Kiosk was used to fill the background and serve as a window through which this year's guest of honor Hanna Schygulla can be spotted.

Poster / flyer designed by Hoang Nguyen to advertise the two Master programmes of the Visual Communication Institute of the Basel School of Design. One being the Master of Arts in Visual Communication and Iconic Research and the other the International Master of Design UIC/HGK (MDes).

The display typeface shown prominently when the flyer is still folded up is called Kiosk. It was designed by David Gobber and is available from his website. The typeface used to set the running text is Unica77, the corporate typeface of the Basel School of Design designed by Team77, which is available from Lineto. All other letterforms visible in the design were created for this poster / flyer by Hoang Nguyen and are not part of any available typefaces.
