This Christmas-themed compilation album with twelve tracks from eight of their artists was released by Coral Records in 1958.

Here are the vivacious McGuire Sisters, with their interpretations of the delightful Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town, and the adorable Littlest Angel; Teresa Brewer, the popular “Miss Music,” sings the charming I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and Jingle Bell Rock; The Ames Brothers offer their interpretations of the immortal White Christmas, and the captivating Winter Wonderland; Dorothy Collins sings Mister Santa; the youthful, zestful Lennon Sisters wish you a lilting Merry Merry Christmas; Mel Torme sings The Christmas Song; Johnny Desmond delivers an unusual interpretation of Santo Natale; and Lawrence Welk wraps the entire Yuletide package up quite neatly and beautifully with a collection of timeless carols.

The blackletter typeface used for the title is Photo-Lettering’ Halifax and the artists’ names on the stylized records are set on a circle in caps from Weiss.

The headline face on the back cover is worth a closer look: it’s Ornata. The ornamented roman was designed by Oskar H. W. Hadank and cut as a metal typeface in 14 (!) sizes by the Klingspor foundry.

This album featuring military music and promotional spots was released as United States Air Force Public Service Record in 1966, amidst the Vietnam War. The cover illustration shows Vietnamese kids, queuing up barefooted to get their gifts from a fully dressed Santa Claus. In place of Mr. Bingle, he’s accompanied by two servicemen in uniform. The blackletter face with Lombardic-style capitals is shown in Photo-Lettering’s 1950 catalog as Halifax.
