An extralight geometric sans from the phototype era. Origin unclear. Distinguished from Slenderella by some forms derived from Kabel (angled ‘e’ bar, 2-storey ‘a’ and ‘g’), capitals of varying widths (narrow ‘ABDEFHKLNVXYZ’), spurless forms for ‘bdmnpq’, a round ‘w’, and non-ligning numerals.
Both styles appear in a c. 1974 Filmomaster specimen as well as in an Alphatype ad from 1985. [U&lc Vol. 12 No. 2] Slenderella Refined is also listed in the 1976 Lettergraphics catalog and in FotoStar’s Film Font Digest (date unknown). It’s shown in Castcraft’s Encyclopedia (1978) under the name Kabel Rounded.
