Introduced by Cleveland [ATF 1895–96] in 1883. [THP]
A phototype adaptation with the horizontal ruling is shown by Solotype. [Victorian Display Alphabets, 1976] There was an Open version, too. [Phil’s Photo 1985]
Roger Hartley of Silver Graphics digitized Open and Fill styles in 1993 as Apothecary (no longer available). Letterhead Fonts had a solid style as Argentine Solid by Mike Stowe (before 2001, discontinued). The original ruled style was digitized by Roger Seganti in 2014 as Argentus (unreleased).
