Originally designed in 2014 as the brand typeface for Google Play
Books, Literata was made the default typeface in
Google’s ebooks in 2015. Later extended. Version 3 was completely
redrawn and open-sourced under the SIL Open Font License in
December 2018, now spanning 4 optical sizes (Display, Subhead,
Text, Caption) in a range of weights, plus italics. Also available
in variable font format. Includes support for Latin, Greek,
Cyrillic, PinYin, and Vietnamese.
