Santerini Initials in use. An ornate all-caps alphabet (A–Z, no W) in which each letter is decorated in a different fashion. Reproduced in Moderna Coltura Calligrafica (Bologna, 1839), without name, but with an accompanying comment in Italian: “another new alphabet in which each letter offers a pattern and design to form an entire alphabet”. Designed by the Fratelli Santerini (Brothers Santerini), Biagio and Costantino. Engraved by Raffaele Radisini.

Reproduced in Gebrauchsgraphik 4/1959, with isolated letterforms.

Made into a digital font named Santerini Initials by Jose Jimenez (Celebrity Fontz, 2012; used for sample).
