ITC’s expansion of Franklin Gothic, made under license from ATF. Announced for April 1980 in 4 weights (Book, Medium, Demi, and Heavy) plus italics as well as 3 display versions (Outline, Outline Shadow, and Contour) in U&lc Vol. 7 No. 1. The Book and Medium were equipped with small caps and matching numerals.

In 1979 Victor Caruso, International Typeface Corporation, increased the series to four photocomp weights, Light, Medium, Bold and Black, all with italics.
