Designed by Hermann Ihlenburg and originally patented by MS&J/ATF in 1894 as Houghton. Comes with alternates (open and closed ‘g’) and swash attachments. Re-released shortly thereafter by Bauer & Co (and later Berthold) in Germany as Edison. Photo-Lettering had a phototype version as well as a variant named Willowby Xenotype.
Digital versions include Spiece Graphics’ Edison Swirl SG and HiH’s Edison (used for the sample).
