<p><cite>The Negro Mood</cite> is a book by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lerone_Bennett_Jr.">Lerone Bennett Jr.</a> (1928–2018), African-American scholar, author, social historian, and long-time executive editor of <em><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebony_(magazine)">Ebony</a></em> magazine. First published <a href="https://archive.org/details/negromoodotheres0000benn/page/n5/mode/2up">in 1964 by Johnson</a>, this is the cover of Ballantine’s paperback edition from 1965 (U5045).</p>

<p>The text is set in <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/15666/bulletin-typewriter" data-entity-code-id="15666" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Bulletin Typewriter</a></strong>, mostly in all caps, and spiced up with a mix of <strong><a href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/19177/filmotype-zephyr">Zephyr</a></strong> and <a href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/19137/filmotype-gem"><strong>Gem</strong></a> for the title. Lines and individual words are shown in cut out strips, possibly in reference to <a href="https://Ticker tape">ticker tape</a>, alluding to the urgency of the matter.
