An extremely condensed high-contrast serif typeface. Originated 1892 and eventually offered by several foundries including Bauer, Berthold, Haas, John, and Woellmer [Wetzig 1926–40]. Enge halbfette Antiqua was later shown by Bauer as Stephanie (DE) Stephana (EN) [Specimen], which Reichardt dates at 1890 [Reichardt 2011].
