Contemporary music venue Le Moloco wanted to set up a new festival in its region, the Pays de Montbéliard. With small venues, brownfield sites and unusual locations, BO District festival is designed to be itinerant, reaching out to audiences. The event's program gives pride of place to rap and electronic music, while also leaving room for more pop and folk artists. The programme bridges the gap between the different components of this unique region, which is made up of urban centres marked by industry, but also vast rural areas.

We designed the identity around this idea of travelling around the region. For a festival, occupying a variety of venues means making its universe immediately recognisable, for example through signage. We therefore designed a system of customised paper adhesive tape based on the principle of identity: a line running through the BO District territory. This tape makes it easy to materialise spaces, typography and signage.

Philadelphia’s City Budget is more than just numbers – it’s a reflection of the city’s values, priorities, and future. Yet, the budget process can feel boring, complex, and inaccessible. The People’s Budget Office wants to change that.

Founded in 2021, the People’s Budget Office transforms the municipal budgeting process into an inclusive, creative, and community-driven experience. They use public art, education, and advocacy to empower residents to engage directly in shaping how public funds are allocated.

By making the budget process transparent, accessible, and playful, they ensure that all Philadelphians—regardless of background, age, or experience—can have a say in how their city is built and resourced.

Bouquet creates flavor-forward infusions with the highest quality ingredients. Born from a love of flavor, and a disdain for the mundane, the name is inspired by the idea that things are better when paired together – taking a bouquet over a lonely flower any day.

With this ethos in mind, Walk A Thought composed a rich visual world built on unexpected pairings: a bold wordmark to dress the elegant name, a vibrant color palette to contrast the earthy tones of the syrup, and typography that ranges from elegant to scientific. A universe of expressive lettering and illustration brings out the unique characteristics of both brand and flavor.

For the packaging, the studio developed a flexible system that lets the character of each flavor shine without compromising consistency. The embossed logo, distinct color coding, and unique artwork help each bottle stand out on the shelf – while also making it easy to identify for baristas and mixologists in high-paced environments like cafés and bars.

To introduce Bouquet to the world, Walk A Thought designed a website that’s quick and easy to navigate, while still filled to the brim with tasty photography, expressive typography, and illustrative surprises.

Intuit Art Museum has been a vital part of Chicago’s arts community for over 30 years, known for celebrating self-taught and outsider art. However, as the institution grew and transitioned from a community art center into a full-scale museum, it faced a challenge: how to become more inclusive and welcoming to broader audiences while respecting its rich history and unique genre of art?

Intuit partnered with Span to help reposition the institution. Span recommended a streamlined name, shifting from “Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art” to the more approachable “Intuit Art Museum.” The new identity carefully balanced accessibility with authenticity, embracing the unconventional spirit of outsider art. The brand concept, “Serendipitous Connections,” influenced all aspects of the museum’s design system. Span created a playful yet sophisticated logo by modifying the Degular font, forming visual connections between letters. This approach extended into brand characters inspired by artworks from Intuit’s collection, enhancing visitor engagement and reflecting the museum’s eclectic spirit.

The brand typography is anchored by OH no’s Degular, ensuring consistency across applications. As a complementary element, we introduced Original Sans by Commercial Type, a historical typeface used for secondary headlines, accents, and donor signage. Original Sans offers a visual contrast to Degular’s refined precision, bringing a more expressive character into the system. For donor recognition signage, the choice of Original Sans was also a conceptual nod to Jesse Howard’s typographic paintings. Its slightly crude, idiosyncratic letterforms resonate with the spirit of Howard’s naive brush lettering, reinforcing the connection between the institution’s mission and its visual voice.

The refreshed brand successfully communicates openness and connection, using friendly and direct language to welcome new audiences. According to Intuit’s president, Debra Kerr, Span’s comprehensive identity system has become instrumental in the museum's transformation, making Intuit Art Museum a more inclusive, inviting, and dynamic space.

African raw soap – or black soap, as it’s usually known – has yet to have made it as the beauty industry’s new it item. Our goal was to streamline all of Abe Dua’s benchmarks into a coherent brand identity that can get instantly acknowledged by consumers beyond Africa, where black soap is an everyday staple. Ahead of the product’s world beauty expo launch, our goal was to emphasize the soap’s Ghanaian legacy, its rich history and the variety of compositions depending on what place it comes from

Underscoring the natural, organic qualities of the product was our top priority during the design and naming process. The words ‘Abe Dua’ are a direct reference to Ghana’s Adinkra symbol which represents a palm tree and its near-infinite resourcefulness and practicality. In direct parallel with the name, the brand logotype consists of its typographic representation and is rendered in Dida. The icon, however, is a visual depiction of the Adinkra palm tree, instantly evoking traditional wisdom, a simple way of living and awareness of the environment. Further referencing Ghanaian culture, our set of master shapes to be used in all visuals is a nod towards the country’s Kente cloth, traditional hand-woven patterns used universally across West-African history, philosophy and religion. Just like in the traditional Kente, each of our shapes has been assigned its own, symbolic colour, further enforcing the brand’s storytelling. The patterns have been used in packaging design, where each colour and pattern denotes a different soap ingredient, from coconut oil to honey. As wonderfully diverse and eclectic as Ghana’s traditional art, the cheerful, colour-blocked visual style has been utilised in our custom-made set of illustrations.

La Unió Llauradora i Ramadera (“The Agriculture and Livestock Union”) is the largest professional farming organization in the Valencian countryside. The graphic identity had to reflect the renewed character and values of the organization and try to connect with the new generations. We propose a typographic logo that joints the two words. The typeface, Original Sans links it formally to the trade union imagery. Seeking to enrich the identity and also as a functional element, we added a variant that has the full denomination and associates it to the food quality seals. The main typeface is Zoom Pro which with its imperfect geometric shapes provides freshness and spontaneity and, thanks to the variety of weights and widths, it allows the message to be modulated from some more formal to others more demanding.
