Description of the project by Baillat Studio:

Drawing inspiration from the 9 lives of a cat, this calendar celebrates the 9th anniversary of Baillat Studio. The calendar spans the next 9 years (2024-2033) from July to June, and invites you to dive into a feline universe.

The design of the calendar uses a wide range of fonts. In addition to those mentioned in the image captions, this includes Awaria, Engin, Founders Grotesk, an unknown Heritage, Generation Mono, Glossy Display Millionaire, Montserrat, and Morion. These don’t seem to be visible in the included images and thus aren’t listed under “Typefaces”.

The numerals on the left are again from NN Swinton.

Rebrand for Project Space Festival Juarez 2023 (PSFJ23), themed “sitting on the border”. In the words of director Gabriela Durán-Barraza:

We will focus on Ciudad Juárez and its central issue: human exploitation. The exploitation of underpaid people in the assembly lines; the exploitation of missing people; the exploitation of restriction of movement. Because people in the Global South are considered less valuable, missing people is not an emergency.

Bats of Kau Wildlife Area – Tok Pisin poster

A series of posters by French graphic designer and illustrator Laura Montbel / Cryptixotic, made in collaboration with tropical ecology Ph.D. student Elise Svlt. Printed in DIN A1 size, they are to be displayed in schools and offices near the wildlife areas where the bats are found.

In the poster designer’s own words:

Papua New Guinea is a biodiversity hotspot home to 95 species of bats – increasingly threatened by commercial logging and agricultural practices. The objective of this project is to enhance our comprehension of understudied bat species native to the country. It also aims to shed light on the pivotal role these bats play in essential ecosystem services such as pollination, seed dispersal, and pest control within two conservation areas. Such endeavors have the potential to significantly increase conservation efforts where scientific studies are scarce, and the knowledge of species remains limited among the local communities residing near conservation areas.

The posters feature different weights of Nyght Serif, a free and open-source typeface designed by Maksym Kobuzan and distributed by Tunera Type Foundry. In 2023, Nyght Serif received the Typographic Excellence Certificate award at the occasion of the 69th edition of the Type Directors Club competition.
