First cast by Bauer in 1901. [Wetzig 1926–40] No lowercase, but alternates for ‘EGHORS’ and ligatures for ‘CK’, ‘CH’, ‘LA’, ‘LT’, ‘TH’, ‘TT’.
Not to be confused with the homonymous typefaces by Schelter & Giesecke (1887) and Schriftguss (the latter is a version of Sezessions-Grotesk).
Face Photosetting had a phototype adaptation as Kunstler Grotesk, with alternates for ‘EGHIOS’ and some ligatures. [Face c.1981] Also shown by Panache as Spartan, with a second Bold weight.
Künstler Grotesk ML (HiH, 2005; distributed as Kunstler Grotesk, used for sample) is a comprehensive digitization by Tom Wallace. Sparticus (Solotype) is an earlier interpretation with added lowercase.
