Designed by Arno Drescher and issued by Ludwig Wagner in 1950 as
Antiqua Manutius in four styles, mager, halbfett,
fett, schmalfett. In 1952, a Kursiv with optional swash caps was

After Johannes Wagner had moved the foundry to West Germany in the
mid 1950s, the family was continued as Antiqua 505
(not to be confused with Egyptian
505). In East Germany, it was continued by Typoart as
Manutius-Antiqua. The mager style of Antiqua
505 was adopted by Berthold Fototypes in 1968/69. [Gebrauchsgraphik]
