Two sizes of letterpress printed posters from the same lino-cuts, with the concert program of Tunnel, a club in Glarus, Switzerland. The smaller posters (35×50 cm) are sections from the larger formats (70×100 cm).

The letters “t-u-n-n-e-l” have been printed from an old set of Como in original wood type from Xilografia Italiana. Then the scans of these letters have been used to scale up and hand-cut blocks of linoleum for the final poster production.

Like on all posters from the “Tunnel Series”, the small event information has been cast from Ludlow Condensed Gothic No. 2 mats and printed from the cast hot-metal slugs.

Letterpress printed invitation poster for the open days 2016 at my graphic design studio. The large poster type “Willkommen!” is hand set Como by Xilografia Italiana. The smaller vertical info is set in Cairoli Serie Tonda Nerissima (see Neue Moderne Grotesk / Aurora-Grotesk I–IV) metal type by Nebiolo. So two analog Italian faces on this one. You gotta love that!

The hand has been cut manually from linoleum. All the other shapes (curved corners, straigth lines, circle segmets, heart, wavy line) have been pantograph-cut from pear wood (in a similar process to how wood type has been produced traditionally in Continental Europe). Printed in four print runs.
